Hi everyone!, i recently bought a 2007 fiat punto 1.3 jtd semi automatic (dualogic) all was fine until i left it parked for 2 weeks! and now when ignition is switched on gearbox wont select or even display any gears on the dash? even tho its in neutral, hence when fully turning the key i get nothing!....not even a noise. battery is fully charged, have checked the fuses under bonnet and plated fuses ontop of battery. tried disconnecting the battery for few hours still no gear displayed on dash! just 3 weeks ago car was driving fine

Did you ever get this sorted? I have the exact same problem with my own 07 punto its been back to the same garage 4 times now and this time they have diagnosed it as a starter motor problem and that it needs to be replaced.

To be honest im not convinced it is the starter motor as they missed this on the last 3 occasions and breakdown recovery mechanics have told me the starter was fine.
