Morning all

I have a major service done every year at my local Fiat specilist however I like to do a 6 month oil and filter change but I have been told due to a sensor in the multi air versions engine only a garage can proform this as the sensor will need reseting is this correct?

Hello,

As far I know, no sensor for oil quality. The only thing you have to reset is the interval service, based on km done.

But not sure a 6 month oil change is necessary, which engine do you have ?
I think a yearly servicing at you Fiat dealer with high quality oil (and exactly matching specification) is sufficient for a long long life of your engine.

Oil degradation index is only fitted on the Diesel versions with DPFs I believe.

Question which will answer it, on the multi air service Schedual is the oil X time or X miles or is there an astrix saying when the car tells you (as per the diesel version)

The manual specifies millage and time frame so I take it there must be no sensor, I Know 6 monthly oil changes are a little excessive I just like to keep things nicley servied for the sake of an extra £60 per year it keeps my ocd at bay lol

Correct, shouldn't be a sensor
