I've been through the the first 30 pages of the forum but I can't find anything definitive.

I bought a 60 plate 1.4 EVO GP the other day and foolishly I never thought about music input. I figured the usb would be able to play off my phone or using USB but its not ideal so i'd like to change the head unit.

The headunit I've got is the glossy black one that came as standard. I've got blue and me but I don't need or want it but the only thing I'd like to retain is the steering wheel functions like changing the radio station ect.

My question is it are there any particular model of head unit that would make this easier or connectors that I'd need?

There isnt much definitive information on this matter. Ive been looking into changing the head unit too as the factory unit is terrible. The only answer I can give is get a specialist to install a new radio. Im pretty sure the steering wheel controls like all cars will be wired up in the same way. A specialist should be able to wire up a new unit with minimum loss of functions.
