Re: How long should a battery last?

Your battery is right model.

Varta should be good. CCA is higher, capacity is ok and its an EFB type, ok for start stop.

Double check size to be sur it fit, Punto have not all same battery holder.

Varta is a good make.

Check the Marelli one that the dealer supplied last year for a manufacturing date. If it was more than 6 months old before it was fitted to your car, that would be why it failed, demand a new one free.

I go Varta if I can't get a Bosch, but Believe they're actually the same.

Re: How long should a battery last?

Given that my battery now only lasts a few days on a full charge, are there any other recommendations on what battery to get?

What range Bosch should I be looking for??
Where is a good online retailer?

Re: How long should a battery last?

Andy, the S700 will not fit on my tray, its 240x185 or if I remove the little triangle bit 270x185.

Local suppliers are offering me Banner or a GS AGM027 (http://www.fpsdistribution.com/gs-titan-agm-batteries/) for 105+vat

or a platinum plus 027 at 100 +vat however I Platinum only make the platinum prestige plus range and this supplier has confirmed it does not say prestige on it so IMO its not by Platinum.

All with 4 year warranty.

The platinum I can collect today, the other tomorrow.

Decisions, decisions.

Re: How long should a battery last?

To make matter worse, I have just visited the motor factors nearest me ( IMO it's worth paying a few quid extra for the local support etc) and they are telling me a Yuasa 5027 is what I need, however looking online that's a std battery and no good for stop start.

Grrrrr!

The 9027 is a stop start and that's 130 delivered but its for high specification cars and I wonder if its too much for a punto as it needs a 4 amp charge and I dont know what the punto provides.

Mind you, I do want to be able to run additional electrical stuff, like dashcam, CB radios etc.

Most modern cars have 70amp+ chargers on them these days.

Re: How long should a battery last?

The 4 a charge is for full charging low slow rate to ensure capacity filling
