Hi All,

I noticed today a slight whine while driving. The sound is directly proportional to road speed not engine speed.
I can't figure out where its coming from.
My gut feeling is it is either wheel bearings or gearbox output. The car has done 45000 miles.

Anyone else had this?

Thanks

If it change when you turn left / right it can be a wheel (apply / remove pressure to bearing). Test on a long straight line at 60-70 kmh, and "zig zag" (long turn to have the longest possible pressure on a side, not a slalom) and hear if noise change.

It can be you tires too, check if noise change when at same speed you change of road surface (new / old road)

Just a quick update. It was the rear wheel bearing. Both of them really really bad. Replaced under warranty. I think the fronts are starting to go so will try to get those done before the warranty ends in September.
