Technical drivers side cubby hole

Hi could someone direct me to a fix for drivers side cubby hole on evo, i know its a common fault and is easy to get that part of dash off, but the spring mechanism seems an odd design, cant find a fix in search, does one exist

after a lot of messing about trying to fix this i have decided it is just crap design so its shut with sellotape for now, shocking design and who needs a stupid cubby hole anyway!!!

Mine had some sweets in last summer, its a sticky mess now so I cant use it

Mine is broke to but just got it wedged shut at the moment!

Only fault I am yet to find!

my dealer fixed it for free, was a service notice issued by fiat for a mod on it to put two screws in, so all done, now i can officially not use it!!
