hi there, this is my first post so be easy on me haaa,

i have an 11 plate 1.4 8v punto evo on HP, i still have a few years left but am starting to become a bit aggitated with the lack of power at my disposal, whcih means i tend to 'rag' the car which effects the fuel economy and essentially my wallet as well as being harsh on the car itself.

apart from this is do love the car and the fact im tied down with it for a while longer i had the thought of changing engines for something a little more powerful, but im currently struggling to find if this is possible and if it is possible, then what engines fit my model.

any answers would be appreciated!!!

Personal opinion.
The HP company owns it until you finish paying for it IIRC... so modifying isnt really an option. In any case, there is a lot involved, more than you might imagine. Anything is actually possible depending on how fat your wallet is, but consider extra insurance for a modified car...

My advice would be live with it, slow down, learn to drive economically and replace the car when it becomes yours with an example that better meets your needs.

I dont see a problem playing with the car but changing the engine is too much really as you dont fully own it. Look at performance upgrades maybe.

My mate had a corsa vxr brand new out the showroom and its stayed standard for the matter of two weeks! He never had a problem with servicing warranty or recalls only that they wouldnt replace bits that he had changed

However, if the engine fails - a replacement is in order.
The insurance co would likely agree to that too.

So if you need to change it - the old one has failed :)
