Has anyone a wiring diagram for the rear boot lamp and the boot lock which I think actuates the lamp when the boot is opened.
I have removed the plastic boot trim but met with a maze of wires
Any ideas ?

If only mine were that easy.
I deluged the plug and socket in electrical cleaner to no avail.
I then discovered the "Open Boot" lamp on the dash doesnt come on - well since I purchased the Evo back in July I never knew the warning even existed.
Now with the plug removed on the lock assembly, I looked for an earth potential on both pins ( lamp and warning ) on the boot assembly ( not the plug)- nowt
With the boot open of course.
Now if I earth the relevant sockets on the cable plug both the lamp and warning light come on !
ie the boot lock is faulty
Looking on Ebay and my local Fiat dealer this is going to set me back about £28 - £30

Flood the catch with it you have nothing to loose (y)

Forget about spending a fortune on a new lock
Purchased a new door switch (same as on the original Minis)from Ebay for 99p
Mount it on the bottom left corner of boot bodywork where the lid comes down with a rubber bush
All the light requires is an earth on the wire that goes to the lock
Easy eh !

Er, what a negative outlook !
(a) its embedded in silicone
(b) Didnt have a problem with multiple minis I once owned with door switches

and finally who cares if it only lasts a year at 99p a switch

Yes sorry, for me the switch look crappy on the pic...

It's not pretty to add a old switch this way on a beautiful Punto :)
My apologies for this "hard" comment...

But if its waterproof it will work long time, hope long long time ;)
