Hello, has anyone changed their own pollen filter on the Evo?

Where is it?
I cannot find it or any information on where it is located.
(Pictures would be a great help.)

I want to remove/replace it when checking for a smell that only occurs when using the external air. Internal/recirculation does not smell so IMO its not inside the cockpit itself.

Also, where does the external air come in from?

Cheers,
ES.

So there is - thanks.

I wonder why it did not turn up in searches.

Am off out to try it after tea.

Found it thank s to https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-guides/149411-how-install-replace-pollen-cabin-filter.html

Mind you - for a 6 month old filter it aint half dirty - but its not smelly.

So I have a smell, it only comes on at the start and goes off when its set to recirculation.

So logic tells me the circuit should be like this:
Air input, in/recirc switch, blower, output. (cooling is in there somewhere too).
The air input/recirc switch will be a combination of outside air and inside air inputs to the switch.

Given that the smell goes on recirculation - I can only surmise that its coming from the outside air input. So where does this come from? Where is the outside air input? IMO thats where I need to be spraying the cleaner.

I will order another filter and some cleaner while I find this out.

Haynes have no plans for a manual for this for quite some time.

Hello ,i have exactly the same issue like you, did the replacement solve it?

My evo has a funny smell too. Replaced the pollen filter too but no change.

It is like damp/musty water. something in the cooling circuit is leaking and the local dealer are too useless to fix it.

Too bad , yes it smells like musty water . I leave the window open for a few seconds for the smell to leave.

No, I never got around to a new filter or an AC bomb.

I just ran with the heater on for a few minutes at the end of the journey and it seems to have done the trick.

Not a problem now though as I'm going to be putting the heater on more soon :)
