After seeing how much selena oil is thought I would look into other oils surely Fiat would be breaking laws if you could only use selena oils.

I came across Castrol Magnatec 5w40 C3 it meets all what is required as in the hand book including the new FIAT 9.55535-S2 certification.

Will this be safe to use?

i'd rather use motor factors value brand than Castrol

you can get selena from shop4parts or even ebay

oh and glyn hopkins parts department give a discount to ff members, if ipswich say no(they shouldn't do). ring nick at chadwell heath parts, he can have parts sent to ipswich for collection if needed

Just found it on shop4parts 4l with fiatforum discount is £40 not too bad will order that already have oil filter from when I had a abarth.

Petronas is what I use. 5 litres for around 30 quid and if you look at a case of selena it's now made by petronas. And it sponsors Mercedes gp :p

Castrol is the only choice for more than 40 years now, in all vehicles I own and have owned.
When in doubt, I send an email to Castrol, and always got good recommendations from them.

Btw,I personally don't like (small) oilcompanies with strong ties to just one car manufacturer.
Castrol is UK based, independent, although owned by BP, and have a long history in racing, where demands on lubrications are very high.
F.i. Castrol was one of the first with synthetics...

Quick update have done first oil change using Petronas Syntium 3000AV seems really good stuff for the money would even say better then Selenia. Currently costing me £20 for 4l and a oil filter. Having oil changed every 6k costing me £45 with labour.
