General Electric boot release help

Hi,

Electric boot release has stopped working on my 2010 evo sporting. Boot won't open using either the tailgate badge push or the keyfob button. All other door and remote key locking functions work fine so anyone else had and sorted this fault?

very possible its the electronic boot lock mechanism has died due to water ingress or the cables in the flexi cable duct have become damaged....

you can override it from the inside via folding the seats down like this:



and if you have a test meter you can check the wiring

Update on taigate release issue,

Removed the tailgate trip panel (hardest part of the job as having removed the single screw fixing inside the hand pull it was careful brute force to release the plastic retaining lugs without breaking any) all was dry and after cleaning the connector terminals on the latch / solenoid itself and release badge all was well again.

Hi I'm having the same problem but I don't have a tailgate button, I only have 1 on the dashboard and key. So I don't no how to fix it

Had the same problem, took it to fiat and they replaced the mechanism and a seal which was apparently a recall issue all under warrenty, no problems since.
