Stiffer tires - steering feel?

My Punto evo can feel a little insensitive driving straight forward. I wonder if cars with electrical power steering generally should run on other tires than cars with hydraulic- or without power steering.

Internet search indicates that one should go for a little stiffer tires, such as Dunlop SportMaxx RT.

I take "Road feedback" as as a measure of steering feel.

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Bridgestone/B250.htm

My punto came standard with bridge tone B250, but tyrereview shows bad experiences with these tires.

Are there any suggestions on whether the tire choice can have a punto evo to feel more precise ?

Does anyone have experience with Hankook 425 Kinergy eco and Bridgestone Potenza?

when the Goodyear eco have worn out im looking to go back to B250's if they do them in the 185 size as they handled far better than these

Re: Stiffer tires - steering feel?

cannot really comment on any tyres other than the Bridgestone ponteza RA050 (tyre size 205/45R17 88 V) and the steering feels quite nice with those. I was speaking to a tyre person who deals mostly with Michelin tyres and suggested to fit Pirelli tyres, which I will be. Just need to find out the difference between normal PZero's and PZero Nero (or whatever they are called)

Re: Stiffer tires - steering feel?

My 2012 came with Goodyear GT3s on it, which so far are pretty good... I have every confidence in them cornering, etc. Their one downfall seems to be grip on wet/greasy roads from a standing start - they slip occasionally.

Going to give these a bash when it comes to changing them:

They always seem to be 'on sale' with Blackcircles or Tesco-Tyres, so you get them at a decent price - even the reinforced ones.

Re: Stiffer tires - steering feel?

Thanks for the answers. On the continent we get tire test from german ADAC, which does not mention steering response in specific. The Tyre Review and American Tire Rack do that. On Tire Rack, I have tried to make a decision guide on the nearest model (Fiat 500 turbo). The result was Yokohama S. Drive, with steering response of 8.5.
Question is how credible Tyrereview and tirerack is in your opinion.
