Hi

Apols if this has been answered elswhere, but my Punto Evo Mylife has done almost 18,000 miles and my service is due soon. My car is 18 months old and had its first 'annual service' at 9,000 miles (i don't think they actually did anything, apart from charge me £149.00 to stamp my book). I'm just wondering what prices people have paid for their 18k service as I'm sure my local dealer will try and have my eyes out! I live in Newcastle.

Thanks.

Very easy to catch garages out on servicing! Before you take it in put small marks on the air and oil filters, if they're still there after you know you've been stiffed. The oil should be a transparent light gold in colour on the dip stick. Prices vary but a good service price is about what you paid but save loads by doing the air filter yourself. Its easy to change in any vehicle but garages can charge ridiculous amounts for it. A filter will only cost you about a tenner but could save you 50 quid.

Ring round my evo is only low mileage 9k miles I rung round giving each the same details some of the dealers took the p155 one near malton initially quoted £400! Dealer in hull told me I only needed a minor service £120 Only sg petch at York were honest enough to explain servicing requirements which in my case due to low mileage the interval is 2 yearly or 18k and quoted just over 200 when needed..... so shop about!

I asked this when I had my first service done. 2nd service will be about £250 for me, but I'm doing alot of miles so my service schedule is slightly compressed.

Andy Monty: Hello Laraine im after some advice R.E. Servicing.. I have a 60 plate Punto evo 1.4 8v
Its coming up to 2 years old has 9k miles and i have been told by a dealership as i had a service last year that i dont need one this year due to the low milage whats the warrenty implications on this? I was under the impression it was yearly or 18k what ever comes first?

Laraine B.: could you lease give me your registration number?

Andy Monty: XX XX XXX
Laraine B.: The service interval for the Puto Evo is 18,000 miles or 24 months which ever comes first . Fiat recommend that the vehicle be serviced once every year. since you have serviced yours last year and the vhc has low mileage the dealer is correct in saying that you do not need to have one this year

Andy Monty: so third year warranty remains valid?

Laraine B.: Yes the 3rd year warranty will remain valid for more information regarding the 3rd year warranty we advise you to contact 08445738029 Car Care Plan they deal with the 3rd year warranty
Andy Monty: thanks
