So i bought a used punto evo the other day with 14,000 miles already done.

When i drove away in the car everything worked perfect as you would expect then several hour later with me only doing 4 - 5 miles i hear a rattling noise from the front right side of the car almost every time i put the clutch down and change gear. It also does it when i am going along the motorway at 50mph.

today i stalled the car and went to restart the car with the key ( start stop decided it did not want to work ) and it took 5 attempts to start.

Any ideas what this rattling noise could be?

Thanks

Could be clutch release bearing, but there isn't a lot to go on. Have you tried listening under the bonnet while an asistant proesses the clutch? This may tell you where the noise is really coming from.

Is the car under warranty?

Start Stop will only restart the car if it stopped it. It will never restart it is you stall it, as this could create a dangerous situation.

it seems to restart after a stall wen i put my foot on the clutch. does this create a problem restarting the car using the clutch after a stall?

the car still has a 2 month warranty from dealer 1 years manufacture warranty and 2 years extended.

Thanks

After stop start is activated you have to put your foot on the clutch pedal first.
If you touch the accelerator it won't start.
