Re: Punto Evo Sporting with different exhaust

I wasn't after buying that exhaust, seemed strange that it exists, as never seen a twin exhaust on a Punto.

Will be contacting an Exhaust specialist in Wrexham later in the week.

First off, dont hijack a thread that has nothibg to do with the OP.

Secondly, it sounds like an immobiliser issue, maybe find someone around your area that has fiat ecu scan on a laptop.

The cheapest and probably best option for you is to do as I did and replace your exhaust with that of the Evo Abarth.
It removes the centre box and replaces it with a straight pipe and the backbox is also less restrictive with twin tailpipes and gives a nice burble, it certainly does not sound like a chavy ‘performance’ system.
The only slight issue is that the tailpipes sits a fraction lower than the standard (doesn’t bother me) but if you have a look at my gallery you’ll see a pic there.
I'm with TJ on this one.

I found an Abarth Punto Evo exahust and it bolts straight on with no issues. Sounds great.

Does sit a little down and to the left, but thats due to the exhaust pipes coming out at an angle from the rear box. They would fit bang on if they were straight.

As Scoop said, as it isn't hard to start a thread. Won't make many fans if you keep hijacking threads.

Well if I see a bargain one before I get one made then will give it a try. Also looked on Abarthisti classifieds, but nothing at the moment.

Re: Punto Evo Sporting with different exhaust

Don't know how you got on pricing custom exhausts, but I priced 2 places up (Only places available AFAIK around my area)

RJM & Sons: £495 inc VAT
Fife Autocenter, Glenrothes: £330-£350 (Not sure if its including VAT or not)

Since I already know the guy at fife autocenter, I'll be going there in a months time or so

Az for sports cat, there is a sports cat available but the only direct replacement is a supersprint one thats one the other side of a grand. If you wanted, you could get the abarth turbo and then you can get a direct replacement from TMC for only 310. If TMC can confirm that the cat from the abarh is the same as the sporting, that wpuld help me.

Exhaust boxes are few and far between. Theres not alot of choice unless you get a universal box.

As for titanium (i seen in your post in the other thread) Titanium is jsed to reduce weight of the exhaust system by around ~10kg, not a huge saving but anything is a bonus that reduces weight.

Any more questions mate?
The Abarth 500 sports cat will fit all 1.4Tjet with IHI Turbo

I didn't read through the whole thread, but we have sports cat for Garretts too, same price, they are listed under Abarth exhaust on the website, its the same cat with just a different flange on it, the Garrett has a round metal to metal flange held together with a v clip. The IHI cat off an A500 will not fit the Garrett turbo.

The 200 cell cat can't be seen directly as the heat shield covers it, MOT only look to see that you have a cat present, the sports cat will pass emissions regs.

Re: Punto Evo Sporting with different exhaust

Ahh right, just noticed a little thing in the MOT handbook for next year. I might be buying one in a couple of years. These do come with an emulator or is the ECU ok with the new cat, and also, would it be possible to get a 100 cell?
