135 Sporting Evo Owners!

Not sure if I am just blind, but I cannot see a standard recirculating dump valve anywhere on the Evo. I’m pretty sure that the Grande T-Jet’s have them fitted as standard so why wouldn’t the Evo?... any ideas? Or can anyone see one on theirs?

Re: 135 Sporting Evo Owners!

Na, I’d just been changing the air filter on my old man Grande T-Jet and noticed that it has a completely different setup, cant see the valve anywhere on the Evo… weird!

Re: 135 Sporting Evo Owners!

Its an entirely different turbo, (IIRC its an IHI turbo on the t-jets??). If i remembered my tools, I would have taken the heat shield off...

Re: 135 Sporting Evo Owners!

Yeah, Garret on the multi-air and IHI on the t-jets.
I just didn’t realise that they had completely changed the actual set-up (boost pipes etc?!) as well. Maybe something to do with it being a more electronically controlled engine.

Re: 135 Sporting Evo Owners!

Probably as the multiair engine is electro-hydraulic valve meaning complete variable timing. As for boost pipes, I wonder why they changed them? Different intercooler fitted to the evo as the boost sensor is identical as with the inlet manifold...

Oh, do you know the garret part number for the turbo?

Garrett® Part Number 793996-5002S

I've added a link to the Garrett site below, you can do a search and find out all the tech spec of the turbo.

Re: 135 Sporting Evo Owners!

I think the d-valve is a Pierburg.
Also not 100% but yes I think the cat on the abarth is the same.
