took my car in last thursday as the handbrake stuck on/ froze on. however it has been gradually been getting worse.

and with 11k on the clocks and only 2k since last service it shouldnt be,

took it in and they couldnt fault it. suprise suprise.

Today i get a call, a service action has been released for them to check for sticking handbrakes. lol

so its back in next tuesday.

thought id give you all the heads up.

i spoke to fiat today about my sticking handbrake, and they are denying having any trouble with them. they say its normal for handbrakes to stick in wet weather. ive never had that prob before with any punto. i know somethings wrong here, and reading the posts , i think i am being fobbed off

The first Grande Punto never had this problem.

We have two 2012 Punto and they stick when cold and wet.

Anyone know what they do to fix this ?

This is not normal. You are 100% being fobbed off. If it is arnold clarke then i am not surprised.

The fix is to replace the drums and shoes. Unfortunately the nice painted drums are replaced with bare metal untreated drums that rust very quickly. At least they don't stick anymore though.

Thank for your answer, so new drums and shoes.

They have ordered the bad one, IIRC you can order standard drum and painted one to use with alloy wheels.
