If police officers would just listen once in a while then people wouldn't complain about them being cocky.

I had a young upstart of an officer giving me the attitude about the Bravo's cornering lights. Rather than saying something like "I see your fog light is on and it's not foggy, can you explain why it is on" he decided to try to be clever by trying to get my to incriminate myself.

He ended up quite wound up in front of a few other officers - adamant that I was breaking the rules - and then looked a right plank when I finally got chance to explain why it was on.

Respect must be earned - It doesn't come bundled as part of the uniform.

Ive had this in my bravo, ended up giving the guy a demo, he then went round checking every little thing on the car looking for a fault :p

And the irony is if some mad pshycotic axe-man had been knocking on your front door and she had turned up you would have been kissing her arse and offering your first born child to make him go away.

Here is my opinion.......Cut the plod some slack and wise up to the fact that individuals dont know everything. If it had gone to court we all know what the outcome would have been so why carry on about who was right and who was wrong. They do a damned good job and get FA respect for it. As far as I am concerned the only person you are making an arse out of is yourself ffs.

+1. Funny how everyone expects all coppers to know everything. Bet no one here knows everything there is about their job.

so police can read his post and not have to waste time stopping other cars for it maybe

Can pull any car over, if its being driven on the road. Doesn't have to have foglights or something else wrong ;).

All this hassle
Who the F*** actually needs cornering lights anyway?!... daft idea in my opinion, that’s why I have mine turned off!

They are great on Unlit back roads which make up 99% of my Commute with a few sharp bends they are well worth having.... as for driving round town nah pointless where there is street lighting but since the ability to turn them on or off is buried in the computerised menu i leave them turned on...

I don't expect police to know everything... but then again I do expect them not to claim to know everything.

Insisting something is black, when it is white makes you look much more stupid than just admitting you didn't know what colour it was.

I dont BUT i have had an episode in the past where i was told that I WAS breaking the law. )I even tried to show them a Home office document which explained the law and they wouldn't read it or listen to reason despite me remaining calm and trying to explain..... :bang: )

when i wasn't If the officer is not sure Rather than making the law up they should Check before making any allegations........ and i did end up making a complaint about them their attitude stunk

Haha, some serious debates going on here lol..

Yeah most police have a chip on their shoulder. they were there again on my way home and they pulled a vauxhall for havin fake drl's stuck to the bottom of the bumper (you know the ones) I cant afford an Audi so i'll try and make my corsa look like one! and he had the tacky led strips crammed into the bottom of his headlights.. so yeah he deserved to be pulled but surely the police could find better things to do than that. there not even in a car or i couldnt see one so they could be atleast checkin peoples insurance!

In other news ... My blue&me has finally decided to pair with my phone!.. Cool system that is.

I'm sorry, but if you work in PC world and don't know what the latest electronic gizmo jargon means, then it's unprofessional, but not too serious.
if you are an airline pilot and you don't know where the flaps are - it's terminal.
If you are a police man or pcso, surely it isn't too much to ask that they DO know everything they are supposed to know, and in areas that they can't be expected to know everything about (such as the OP's cornering light) that they exercise a bit of caution and be prepared to listen?

So they don't need to walk round and round the car looking for a fault and then truncheon your back light out anymore and say "look sir, you've got a bulb out"?
They used to need good reason I thought, but not any more.
From watching "cops with cameras" etc. (yes I know, that makes me an expert!) I am coming to the conclusion that if you react to police in a meek and mild, polite way, you will get bullied. If you are aggressive, but stop short of lamping one, then you will get treated in a way that they are relieved top get you off the hands with a "mind how you go sir".
Or am I wrong?

In a way, im glad she pulled you mate.

Im fed up with all the people having fog lights on (no offense to anyone who does on here) it gets on my boobs.
