General is this covered under warranty?

i have a 60 plate punto evo, 3 door. when the driver seat is forward to get into the back it wont click back into place when i pish it back. i have to sit on the seat and slide it all the way back before it starts clicking into place when i bring it forward. the amount of times ive been driving then brake only for the the seat to slide forward causing me to nearly crash twice.

just handed it into arnold clark to be fixed tomorrow. girl at the desk said if it just need adjusting then ill be charged for it?? is this right??

the amount of times my cars been in to be repaired, sick of it!!!!!

feel like going in tomorrow, and if they ask for payment to tell them to keep the car!

I would certainly think that it should be covered under warranty, just make sure and kick up a fuss stating that you really feel it’s a safety issue.
I know exactly the problem you’re describing as I had it on my Alfa, and yes it is a real pain in the butt!

Also you could ask to speak to Colin Rhind he’s the general manager at the Dundee Fiat Branch, he’s a nice guy and tends to resolve any problems.

thanks for ur reply. i think it was colin that sold me the car, ill go in and speak to him tomorrow before i pick the car up.

they were just saying "adjusments" arent covered under warranty. really peed off with it all now. not my fault the drivers seat isnt clicking into place!

did it take long for them to fix ur seat?

I never actually got round to getting it fixed on the Alfa.

ended up getting it done under warranty as it needed a new seat runner

good, i got mine under warranty too, had an issue unlocking the seat so opposite of yours.

if they wanted to charge you, just reply well ill leave it then, but when i have a serious accident whats the companys director called so i know who to sue?

and you'll have it under warranty as they have a legal binding contract to ensure that the vehicle is safe to use for a reasonable amount of time, and 1 year obviously isnt as fiat warrant the vehicle for a minimum of 3years.
