General Picking up Evo tomorrow

So looks like I'll be picking up my Evo tomorrow. I've gone for the My Life version simply because of it's price and features and the 1.2L engine doesn't seem to harsh, downgrading from a Toyota Glanza to a Golf MK4 1.6L and now the evo so it'll be an interesting driving experience.

I had a look at the "what to look for when picking up your evo thread" and gave it a quick test on a car in the showroom... I must say, some of the niggles in the cabin such as the coin tray, really did shock me, plastics and hinge mechanism are aweful and was also quite annoyed to find that the boot badge doesn't open the boot, seems it not a high enough specced car! I sure hope that the car performs, 4years finance on a difficult car is certainly not enjoyable.

Anyway, main question I have is, did you get to pick a number plate? It seems I just got stuck with one, just missed the 61 plate and got an 11 reg. I can't complain too much though as I've had a turn around time of just over 4 weeks, and 4 of those weeks was spent on approving finance...

So if you got any other tips when picking the car up it would be awesome to hear them, especially on the My Life version.

Mine is a pre-registered car so no chance to pick the number plate, doesn't really bother me to be honest, much more concerned about sorting all the paperwork out for Friday when I collect my GP!

Also, when i drove my car home, it wasnt until i turned into my driveway that i heard a rattle from the drivers side dashboard. After checking hoses, engine fixings, checked to see if tyres were rubbing on body work, it turned out that the Airvent on my side hadn't been fitted properly and was loose and rattling off the dashboard.

I don't know if this will apply but dont use any alloywheel cleaners, as they ruin the laquer.

Well so much for that... Was meant to get a phonecall Monday, didn't recieve anything. rang the dealership today and was told that FGA(financing) wanted additional proof of address... Quality "excuse" :bang: They alredy have my Driving License, counter part and bank statements x 3 lol

Going to head over tomorrow morning bright and early, 5mile round walk, no car as I part exchanged it on Sunday, and hopefully that should be the final straw.

Kind of desperate for it now, was meant to be heading on holiday wednesday morning, that's been put on hold now. I have this horrid feeling that I'll be lucky if I get it before the weekend.
