Re: Sticking Throttle

update; They have opened a case with technical, they still cant seem to fault it, but have done another software update, still in with them so will call for an update from them tomorrow.

More interestingly, The courtesy car they have gave me, a lower spec 1.4 8v has the exact same fault!!!!

Re: Sticking Throttle

lol, that did cross my mind, but, its how i drive, and its both cars that have faulted exactly the same.

Fiat have spoke to me today saying the car is ready, they have done a software update 'that is directly linked, for the ABS' and they hope this will fix it. I'm unsure, but its worth a try, get it back monday now.

Off topic, i got a HTC Wildfire and i cant get it to connect to the courtesy car???

Re: Sticking Throttle

Well, got my lovely car back!! They even gave it a wash bless 'em!

If I'm honest, nothing seems different but i haven't had chance to take it on a good long drive yet. The Software update was apparently for the ABS and the throttle so that is looking promising but we will see

Re: Sticking Throttle

Well, after a week in Fiat, the fault is still there. Had enough of it really, not felling happy about it at all

Well if the other car did it, are you sure its not just the car's design, maybe a bad design, but I dont see how its a big problem

Re: Sticking Throttle

Its a rather big problem when you are doing motorway mile like i am.

Ok, think of it like this, imagine zipping down the motorway with cruise control that wont turn off when you ask it to!!!

Re: Sticking Throttle

Your only option is to properly demo the problem to the DET.

No-one else seems to have the issue, so it seems like there's a unique fault there which only apparently presents itself with your driving style, and without knowing how to replicate the problem reliably, the Tech's don't stand a chance of finding it.

Re: Sticking Throttle

Well, after a right old battle with Fiat, I have got no further.
Fiat Technical won't allow me to demonstrate the fault.
Fiat Tech won't come out and test the car for the fault unless I can guarantee the fault will occur at 70mph (i can understand this one).
So, at the moment, as its a company car, its over to the boss who is speaking to Fiat Finance and quite possibly giving them the car back which is a shame really.
Today however, it seems the fault is a bit more continuous. I have noticed it on little short journeys from the start.

Something i missed out. The other day i had a very good run home, the car faulted worse than ever, there was a smell of burning oil (possibly not from my car tho) and the boot floor was raving hot!!!!
