OSRAM NIGHTBREAKER...worth the money?

I'm thinking about buying these for my car, seeing as everything else seems to burn holes in the plastic of your headlights. But really, £24 for a set of bulbs, so nearly £60 to do, main dipped beams, and main full beams. Is it worth it?

Also i noticed that i cant find a bulb like this fit the DRL or Fog lights, dont want 2 yellow beams and 2 white/blue beams, suggestions?

cheers

Re: OSRAM NIGHTBREAKER...worth the money?

You only need the one pair for the dipped & full beams as they are the same bulb. (H4 fitment)
Yes you can get the Nightbreakers to fit the fog lights as well although remember itís a different fitment (H11).
The DRL bulbs are a rather odd fitment other than the standard ones you only really have the option of the M-tec Superwhite t20 (7440) single filament, (this is the bulb that some people think may have caused an issue with burning, although I was one of the first to fit them and I have suffered no problems with mine).
For your sidelight bulbs there are loads of blue/white tint options and they are a 501 fitment.

And yes in my opinion the Nightbreakers are well worth £24.

Hope that all makes sense and helps.

I've got the M-Tec DRL's on my 'barth and after three months of running them they haven't affected the plastics in any way. They look sooooooo much better now too, initially they were too blue but after a week or so they become more white. They almost look like LEDs!!

Whenever i see the reflection of my stock bulbs on the car infront with there yellowy-cheap tint I die alittle inside.

Maybe I should buy a new set of mtec bulbs, just incase the one which melted my headlamp was dodgy some how. (one side was melted, the otherside was fine)

Re: OSRAM NIGHTBREAKER...worth the money?

Is it just the mtec bulbs that have melted the lenses or have there been reports of the Osram bulbs doing the same?

Re: OSRAM NIGHTBREAKER...worth the money?

I used to use Philips Vision Plus and Osram Nightbreakers ( H4 and H7) in our two daily drivers, but in both cars, they only last about 6 months,( we use them day and night...) after using about 5-6 expensive sets in 2-3 years, I was fed up with them, so last year I changed to Philips Eco bulbs, they are still fine.
No more "Premium" bulbs for me...!!

only the mtec drl bulbs, and I think theres only been 2 cases, and I think its only mine that's remained dominant on the forum.....osram/philips etc headlights have had no negative reports yet

Re: OSRAM NIGHTBREAKER...worth the money?

There's a small symbol on the Osram Nightbreaker box, indicating they have half the lifespan, compared to "normal" bulbs....!!
The latest Nightbreaker box says: "improved lifespan", so I was not the only user complaining, I guess....!!

you could just turn off the DRL mode.
