Re: OSRAM NIGHTBREAKER...worth the money?

Well, i got home from my trip to Andover at 8:30pm, and the first thing i did was fit the new lights. So now i have new Side Lights, New Main Beam lights and New Fog Lights. Massive difference, my poor retinas.

Anyway to get one of the bulbs fitted i had to remove the battery negative line, re fitted it and obviously, it had wiped the date and time, will this have affected anything else?

Also, the DRLs, do they only work when the car is moving? because i cant get them to come on now, they weren't on when i took a photo of the lights before changing, and they didnt come on when i took an after photo. I did not change these lights because i hadnt been able to find any MTECs, and im still worried about melting my lenses.

Cheers in advance.

DRL come on (atleast on the 10 plates) as soon as you turn the ignition key & stay on til you remove it.

If you DRL's aren't coming on my guess is removing the battery reset the settings on them, so turn the ignition 1 step & press the Menu button (by the drivers knee, with the fog lights / headlight height etc) and fiddle around "Daytime Light" or something similar is what your after.. if not listed, turn on the engine & repeat.

I say turn the key 1 notch first because I know if the cars in motion it'll hide alot of menu options (stops people fiddling while on the road)

I agree with the above post about the DRL's not coming on.

Also regarding the melting - Its only happened to one or two people I believe, I have had mine in for almost a year now without any problems.

Re: OSRAM NIGHTBREAKER...worth the money?

Right been out to the car tonight and had a good look. Am i right in thinking that the DRLs shouldn't be on when the headlights are on?

They should stay on with the sidelights but go off when the headlights are on.
