According to the Fiat website the answer is yes it should.
There has already been an issue with this when someone bought an EVO expecting those safety features only to find that they were not fitted. The reason behind that however was that it was not a new car and Fiat had only recently changed the spec to include those features. If you have just bought a BRAND NEW car then it should certainly be fitted with them at least to my knowledge and according to the Fiat site.

Yep, I just checked every GP (3dr/5dr, 105 / 75 & 8v) on the Fiat.co.uk

All of them come with ESP (ASR/MSR/Hill Holder) as Standard.

So if its a brand new 11 plate & it doesn't have it you can most assuredly go back and kick some ass.

Also, it'd be worth checking under the bonnet to see if the ESP unit is there just to see weather a button is missing or the whole thing.

Yeah that unit is there but is it the ebd unit or the esp unit?
I,m looking at the various labels in the engine compartment and it looks like this car is over a year old!
In the March 2010 version of the brochure the esp/asr/hill holder are listed as options whereas now they are standard.
I'm trying to find out the build date of the car as I don't think it is "as described" in the current brochure and on the Fiat website.

Cheers. Chris K.

The pic is definitely of the ESP unit!.... I should know I took it :D... plus the fact that the label says so

Point taken!

Mine doesn't have a label on actually.

Does that mean that all the other stuff is there though?
I'm still trying to find out the build date. The dealer are supposed to let me know tomorrow.
I've tried to get it through eper but couldn't make it work.

Thanks though.Chris.

Its teh ABS modulator you have photographed (and on some cars it also does the ASR (supprisingly the ABS and ASR/ stability are basicly the same hardware set up) just with a few tweeks and software differences

take my 1.2 2006 active it also has what you have pictured.....

Oh well you learn something new every day. (y)

On mine it certainly has the label stating ESP, so I’d guess that if “beamish boy’s” unit doesn’t have a sticker stating ESP then given the fact the ASR button is missing also then it must simply be the ABS modulator, therfore no ESP on the car (n)

It gets better!!
The same modulator is fitted to my wifes "500".
I'll see what the dealer has to say tomorrow. Everything points towards this car being more than a year old. I don't want to be paying full price for a car which isn't as described in all their brochures.

Thanks again. Chris.

Maybe alittle more ammo - I've noticed 2011 plate Evo stereo's have an analogue (3.5mm jack) input, 2010 plates only have USB.

Can't remember if the input was on the headunit itself or down next to the USB though, but I certainly looked around them and thought damn, they all have 3.5mm jacks now!

Though you've definitely got a valid argument as it is, its in the sales pitch, its on the website... It should be there.

Davren told me the build date of the car.
I've tried the Eper but I can't make it work.....any pointers cos I want to be able to check the date of the new one!!
Cheers Chris.
