Morning all,

I wanted to ask a general question about radio reception in my Punto Evo 2010.

Had the car since new since last September, and reception has been fine since last week. Past a certain point in my journey to work, I lose all radio stations, and only regain a couple (Radio Scotland and Radio 2) by the time I arrive at work. I am travelling from Lanarkshire to North Ayrshire, across Fenwick Moor where I'd expect reception to be rubbish, but actually has been ok. Until last week. Scanning stations gives me nothing other than these 2 above. I've checked online that the Blackhill and Darvel transmitters are problem free, and both show ok. suggeted it might be the switch from analogue to digital, but who knows....

Anyone experienced similar issues, recently or in the past, and any ideas on how to get something other than Radio Scotland to listen to?

Any and all advice appreciated,
Debbie

I work for the company that operates Blackhill (amongst almost all of the other radio/tv sites) and as we have engineers who are based out of there, if there had been a problem it'd have been fixed before most folk would have even noticed it.

Buy some CD's :D

Eklipze3k - thanks for the advice(y).

Didn't think there would be a transmitter problem - colleague who does similar(ish) journey says his reception hasn't changed. He drives a 3-series, so it's always rubbish!

Back to the drawing board...

Ziggy122, WhiteSei - thanks for your suggestions. Ariel is not damaged, no mod work done.... The reception is perfect when I am close to home, but gets worse the further away I get.

Phoned the dealer today who said there may be a "loose connection". Mine was a model that needed an update to the heating matrix before I took delivery, and then the fascia was replaced since they ripped it when the whole panel was taken out and put back in. Doesn't really explain why it's ok close to home, though....

Thanks again, everyone, for your suggestions. I'll get there by process of elimination if nothing else!

Debbie

If it's always in the same area and the person with the BMW has the same problem it's almost guaranteed to be a coverage issue, rather than a receiver issue on your side. Raise it with the stations you're unable receive in the black spot, they in turn will raise it with Arqiva and they'll get one of the Blackhill guys to have a look at it, see if they can find out what's causing the issue.
