Evening all, I've just joined the forum.

Just ordered my Punto MyLife 1.2 at the weekend.

According to the dealer, I needed to place an order before 31 Mar to get the special deal that is currently being advertised.

The car is a1.2MyLife 5door in white.

I didn't really need a car before June of this year, but I have recently been sorting out a car for my daughter, she needed a new car for 10k or below, we looked at a number of cars before she opted for a Polo, on their deal, she was happy because they included 3years servicing and free insurance.

This got me thinking, there are some good deals about, then I heard the Panda Mylife deal on the radio, looked it up on he internet, and discovered the Punto deal. Next day went to the Fiat garage, and discovered a good mate of mine was selling cars there, that was Friday, checked up on a couple of rival manufacturers deals, looked on this forum, and on Sat I ordered the car. What really sold me the car, was that it is so well specced, apart from a small engine, but as this is a second car all I needed was a town run around, I'm sure I'll love it.

I could not get different alloys, so the only extra is a Ipod adaptor. I've got a TomTom720 and am hoping this can be connected to the car.

Apparently, the car is on route to the UK, and I could get it my April 1st.

Can't wait now.:):)

Cheers TJ07.(y)

That must be the first time I've been first for anything.

I'll obviously offers my opinions once I get the car.

I'm seriously tempted from day one to paint the brake calipers red as I will have the whole day free along with a claying and then a carnuba wax treatment.

The MyLife's look great! I love the piano black bumpers that you get with them. I rang the dealer yesterday and my car had arrived in the docks awaiting delivery instructions :)) hopefully by Friday I should have it!!

As far as I know all MyLifes come with the new B&M system with the 3.5mm aux in on the panel. If so, the transcoding for IPOD is built in and should work without an adapter. Suck it and see before you spend out on an adapter you don't need.

Elation.

Thanks for your comments.

I've used the 3.5mm jack cables on previous cars, this uses the headphones output to the car, and therefore drains the power from the ipod.

With the connector, it plugs into the base of the ipod and therefore provides power to it, so it is good for long journeys.

At least that's how I understand it.

You get the option to use both, the new style USB port has the 3.5mm adaptor next to it. What I'm saying is that there is no need to buy the seperate adaptor for Ipod use, as its built in to the new versions of the B&M ports, if it's got the 3.5mm jack, you won't need the USB adaptor. If its the old style B&M port with no aux jack, you will need one. Hope that makes sense.

I think I get your drift. It won't be long before I can try it out for real. I understand the car is on a transporter, heading for my dealer, though I'm not sure how long it takes to get the car ready for the road once it is there, i.e. V5, Taxed and PDI'd.

Could be Friday, if not then next Monday, though I'd much prefer Friday as I'd have the weekend to tinker.

Damn, I'm impatient.

Elation, thanks for your accurate comments, pity I hadn't followed your advice and cancelled the adaptor.

When I picked up the car the adaptor was already in place, though I didn't have my ipod with me.

When I got home, I realised I had to use the USB cable to connect the ipod, but there was no sound, so I got a 3.5mm jack cable, connected via headphones and jack plug, I had sound, all very messy.

Yesterday, I took out the adaptor and just used the USB cable and bingo, sound and connectivity with the dash display.

Doh, 1 surplus connector now, guess I pay the garage a visit on Monday.

We live and learn.

They should refund it to you, if not there's a fair market for them on Ebay. Glad you're happy with the car!

Just ordered a Mylife in Ambient White in 5 door

I'm 18 and it will be my first car!

Knew I made a good choice!

So second person to order it then I see?

Order was placed last week, they said 21st of June delivery date but would it come earlier than this?

Thoughts? :)

whe i ordered my panda with obscure extras they said up to 15 weeks then out of the blue week 7 car turned up the dealer also was not expecting car so they can arrive faster

When I ordered mine early in March it was part of a promotion which Fiat were running until 31st March, I duly signed the papers, when the order was placed I heard that all the MyLifes were sold. My car was likely to have been down in Avonmouth awaiting picking and delivery to my dealer, it was registered on 31st March, but I didn't take delivery till 9th April.
If it is coming from the factory, you will obviously have to wait a little longer, other owners on here have more experience of factory orders.

Hope you enjoy it when it arrives.

I'd hope there not all sold since their still being advertised and still on the fiat website. IMO it is a cracking deal and very tempted myself, hence trawling the PE section of the forum lol

When I said sold, I was referring to the UK stock which was available and could be sold/registered by 31st March 2011.

As Fiat were running a particular finance offer.

I believe that this has now moved on to the Evo Feelin Good.

The MyLife is still on sale and is a great deal, on thing you should be aware of is that the Blue & Me TomTom is an extra and costs in the region of £280. It works well though.

aha, understood. Got a normal tomtom so wouldn't be worrying about that.

Was confused by the advert, MyLife £9995 and not a penny more, go to the configurator and it's £10995 although the i-deal finance example is £9995-£500 dealer contribution. Will just have to see what happens in the next few months

Yes.

On day 1 I had to collect my wife and friends from the pub. Headlights on, turn right and the right fog comes on, ditto the left fog when turning left.

Obviously, they show up more in darker conditions, as opposed to town lighting with the sodium lights.

It's a nice touch.
