Basically I have a tiny scratch on the rear bumper, but it's on the part where it curves under the car so you can't actually see it unless your under the car thankfully, now I know fiat sell touch up paint for 15 quid or so, but how much would they would charge to do it? As I really have no clue how :/

My theory is if you can't see it, then it's not there!

Seriously though if you don't want to do it yourself then I suggest looking up your nearest ChipsAway. They can refinish the scratches etc, and charge you a mint for the honour.

unfortunately my fiats on a pcp though... so if i dont get it done at an authorised dealer that will fill out and stamp the accident & repair book it could invalidate my anti-perforation warranty and get me penalities when i hand it back at the end of my pcp (n)

its plastic it isnt going to rust ;)
i realise how stupid that sounds now :bang: haha, but i was just going by what i read in the manual saying any repair not at an authorised dealer, not just neccesarily the paintwork? or am i just taking it too literally?

Small scratches and stone chips are normal wear and tear, and therefore would be acceptable when you hand it in, (provided you haven't let them start rusting away :)) .... How bad is it?

Sometimes cars have delivery scuffs under the front or back bumpers when they come off the transporter. Is it from that? Could it have always been there? I have one where the rear bumper bolts on underneath to the underside of the car. Also under the front on the lowest point each side, where the plastic underbody protection has plastic fixing screws near the wheels. These are slightly scuffed on each side.

If the paintwork hasn't been perforated just a good polish with some auto glym super - resin polish will often do the trick. I've found its excellent at removing surface scratches. At least so your eye isn't drawn instantly to the defect!

Otherwise I've just touched in small chips myself, including a scratch on the front bumper that almost looks like a knife score but I guess something sharp bounced up off the road at speed. You still see it if you look hard, but otherwise it's now almost invisible. Or my eyesight is getting worse.

The trouble with getting a new car is that it instantly starts turning into an old car !

PCP rules aren't that horrid. IF you hand the car back (ie there's no profit in the car) then it only has to be in a fair wear and tear condition relative to it's age and mileage.

Besides the car will end up at an auction house if you hand it back to FIAT. If you trade the car in part exchange, then the dealer will be happy it looks tidy, rather than covered in gravel rash.
