I've noticed with the Cruise Control, if your going along the motorway at 70, flick the switch.... the car will drop to about 50mph.

Of course, we hold the stick up & wait for the bite. Hopefully you don't drop below about 55-60. (Then ultimately fiddle with the stick again until we hit 70)

Personally I find this very annoying, as I need to make sure there's no cars behind me before I can turn on cruise control.

Is this just the way it is and we have to live with it, or is there a way to set a default speed or a way to set it to the speed were driving when we turn it on?

on mine all i do is switch it on and push the stick up at the speed i want and the car holds the speed give or take a few mph might be a fault in your system???

So if your going along at 70, turn on cruise and push up stick u don't lose any speed?

On mine I turn it on, stick up, then wait a few sec for the acceleration bite to appear, at which point I'm doing about 57-60, then have to keep holding the stick up to get it upto 70. After that it works spot-on (til disabled)

And if I turn on cruise while doing 70 and don't interfere it'll go down to about 50.

i will have a fiddle today and see but i would assume if you switch it on an dont touch it the cruise control is on but not activated to hold a speed, ill get back to you after playing a bit later

as i said i had a fiddle with my cc today on the fast roads and i cannot replicate what you say yours does if i switch it on but dont flick the stick the car just looses speed and drops below 50 and as i said if i switch it on and flick the stick at the speed i'm at the car holds at the speed,

hope that helps maybe contact your fiat dealer to have a look could be a glitch with your cc module

I've not tried flicking the stick tbh, usually just turn it on... slow down... hold the stick until it bites/accelerates upto speed.

I'll play with it tomorrow, Hopefully its just me at fault :)

Personally, I leave mine on for the majority of the time. It's why my MPG is rather high lately...

If you were to switch it on before you even set off... get to the speed you want, and then just knock the stick up... Then you'll stay at that same speed. ;)

Seem's just tapping the stalk up does the job, I feel rather slow now... took me a year & someone pointing it out to find it - And i'm ment to be a techie

Thanks for the help ^^... Now i'll just pray this thread disappears into the abyss! lol
