General What Sort Of Deals

General What Sort Of Deals

I tried my best to haggle with the sales guys over the weekend but the only deal they could do was to knock off £1000 when you take their finance deals. There were no discounts for cash sales though, but that might've just been my local dealers being tight :p, have you tried to see what they can offer you?

I put my order in today with an online broker that i've used before and i saved ~£1,800 off list price.

My local dealers did say they should have some new offers starting in april when this current promotion ends, but he didn't know what the new offers would be.

Hope this helps (y)

Pre-reg cars (quite a few about) will save you a grand or two.

Most models sold have the 1.4 (not multiair) engine so nothing new there, trim seems better but condensation in rear lights. No paint defects as far as i'm aware which should please you

1.4's available from £8950

Just wondering if Fiat dealers are doing good deals on Evo's ATM?

I'm going to test drive an Evo Mutiair GP this arvo with a view to PX'ing my 500.

Also, any known issues with the Evo's yet?

There's not many advertised good offers, especially considering the seemingly slow sales. Only one that looks appealing to me is the Punto MyLife, £9995 for the 3dr with aircon, alloys & Blue&Me. However, the fly in the ointment is it's only available with the 1.2 8v engine, so don't expect many thrills!

The only other offer they advertise is the finance offers on the Active model, but without aircon or alloys i'd say its appeal is pretty limited. They need some finance deals on the GP & Sporting really - these are the most common models bought my forum members.

As T mentions, trim quality is better, but rear light condensation seems to be a problem on a number of forum members cars and a few rubbing strips have come adrift. Also watch out for mis-builds - a couple of people have had either extra kit fitted that wasn't ordered, or had fog lights or aircon without a switch on the dash to switch them on

In-dash storage compartments can stick shut or not shut properly, and a few people with the 105 MultiAir engine have experienced rough running, with one person getting a replacement car out of it.

The 135 MultiAir in the Sporting model, also fitted to the Alfa MiTo, seems fine, as does the other petrol & diesel engines. Though diesel's are so far alot rarer on here than in the Grande Punto section - one member has a 1.3 95bhp MultiJet Dualogic & another has a 1.3 75bhp Multijet on order, everyone else i think has petrols.

Hope the test drive went alright.

Which model did you go for? £1800 off is better than a kick in the teeth! :)

EDIT: Just seen in another thread, a MultiAir Sporting with a rather nice list of options ;)

Yeah, can't wait! Think £1800 is pretty decent with the economy the way it is, 2 years ago when I got my grande punto GP I saved about 3 grand which was very pleasing, just a shame I couldn't get the same sort of savings now :(. I'm well happy with my order though just hope it doesn't take too long :D
