Hey Guys,

After a visit to my local Arbath dealership (slough) yesterday i found the following. (obviously all subject to my opinion)!

The Abarth downsides:
  1. Seats aren't as nice as the sporting (stitching, comfort etc)
  2. Dash has a scratched effect instead of the perforated leather! :yuck:
  3. Brushed metal effect instead of pearl white on interior parts :(
The Abarth benefits:
  1. Bodykit (prices to be included below)
  2. Alloys - not better than sporting imo but still nice
  3. Brakes - they have a brembo sticker on (dont look bigger though...)
  4. Engine - ITS THE SAME AS THE SPORTING!! TURBO ETC, just has a different map! CRAZY!!
So there you go, imo a FIAT punto evo with the kit and remap would actually be nicer than the ABARTH!

Prices for the kit below! (sit down before reading..)
  • Front Bumper £431.20
  • Front Moulding (bumper middle) £41.27
  • Rear Bumper £396
  • Rear Bumper Diffuser £68.64
  • Arches (fronts each) £82.40
  • Arches (rears each) £84.30
  • Side Skirts (each) £148.36
  • Spoiler £194.83
  • (i have another moulding i cannot remember what it is :( listed from when i went through the bits with the parts department) it is listed as: £29.31
This makes the Abarth Kit total: £2149.64 (including VAT @ 20% of £358.27)

This is BEFORE SPRAYING & BEFORE FITTING!! (oh and i forgot the exhaust & rear fogs!!)

I reckon on that basis anyone will be lucky to get it done for under £3000

Don't think i'll be doing it any time soon :(

Going to order the spoiler though :D looks very nice!

Ouch that expensive.

Yes if you remap sporting it will be as quick as an abarth but you can remap abarths.

Also I have sat in both seats and I like the abarth seats more think it's personal preference.

Also think other parts will be down to personal preference too.

The badges arnt cheap ever thow.

They alloys I didn't think but grown on me. Also yes the disks are the same size I believe but bembos are bigger pistons and 4 pots not 2 I believe

The gearbox is much better, the car is much stiffer, and most of the trim is matte rather than glossy which I like. Same goes for the seats.
And yea, brake calipers are bigger and stronger.

The engine by the way is the same engine they put in the MITO QF minus 5 hp.

Yes on paper it is 163bhp but on the engine its stamped on air intake with 170bhp. But you cant rr them so no one really knows

The engine is the same but abarth has got bigger turbo. I think abarth's turbo is Garret GT 1446, which is the turbo of the old Grande punto abarth esseesse. Also mito qv has got 165hp. Guilietta with the same engine but other air intake system has got 170hp.

Not driven the mito so cant comennt on that, but not 1st person to say that.

Also mito heavy car. Waiting for my barth to be deleivery :)

I did a lot of research before I got mine. Test drove the A500, CR-Z, MiTo (120,135,155,165), Ibiza Cupra, RS Clio, DS3, A1, Scirocco and the Punto.

In the end the Punto won me over. Plus it's around 3000 pound cheaper than the equivalent MiTo QV over here.

As for the MiTo,
The 155hp version is the best all-rounder in my opinion (out of all the MiTos). Much better than the QV dynamically.

Anyway, I'm happy with my choice. It's my third punto too which is nice as well.

Test drove the abarth evo today!

Now i got to speak to the abarth dealer ive been assured there are more updates (fuel injectors etc)

but must say i still prefer the interior styling in the fiat. the standard seats in the abarth are lovely! driving it in 'N' feels slower than my sporting so i assume they only did that for MPG ratings. Lovely when in S.

But couldnt warrent the price! lovely to drive but think i may map & lower mine (also induction cone)

think i'll have to buy the spoiler from the abarth though!!! (y)

Yea N mode is great for just getting there. S is great for having fun on the way :)

Pretty decent MPG too if I'm honest. I get around 30mpg driving to work and back, moderate traffic.

I realise I'm a bit late in asking, but did you manage to catch the price of the abarth alloys? even if you cant remember exactly just a guesstimate? :p as im considering getting them but my closest abarth dealer is quite a trek =/ haha

I can tell you exactly how much they are but sit down first. From the dealer they are just over £400 inc. VAT plus tyres. That's about £2k for a full set! I can't believe mine still haven't sold at £600!

I'd buy them, but I haven't got the cash atm. That and not having a job just yet is not a good combo for financial security! :yuck:
£600 for the whole set you say?

Just a word of warning anyone thinking of fitting abarth wheels on a punto evo yes they do it but the offset is diffrent and you will end up with rubbing issues with any weight in the boot.

Sporting wheels dont even fir on an abarth thow :(

I know all this from personal experience as swopped my abarth wheels with the wheels on my sporting to see if they fitted :)
