Thats not the point though. If they are fitted as standard, I am entitled to use them without being harrassed by the village idiot and his blue lights.

I rever couple years ago I got pulled for my exhaust copper asked my why he pulled me and I thought I was for no seat belt he then checked my exhaust and was .1 db under limit so he went throw my car with a tooth pick then after half hour trying to them say had on rear fl he told me to go then followed me when pulled in to get other half he stopped and went I've just followed you and you still have no seat belt on.

Thought he would have spotted the bright red 4 point harnesses.

Then seen him later on that evening and he pulled up next to me at lights and told me to turn front fogs off but he faulted to notice this other 2 times to had words with me

tell the copper you cant turn them off as the vehicle is ec type approved with the feature fitted, as its legal in the eu member state where the car was type approved its legal throughout Europe then watch his face drop


Its the same with OEM factory fit HID units the UK road vehicle lighting regs they are not mentioned ergo illegal to use or have fitted however they are legal in Europe so EEC rules come into play as our laws are so out of date and have not kept up with advances in technology

same goes for LED tail lights and the like on other cars

They should be pulling over the f***ing jerks who drive around at night, and even during the day, with there actual fog lights on, it's rife around the area I live and to see Traffic Cops let alone your usual plods driving around is as common as rocking horse sh*t! It makes me mad and you try flashing these idiots they give you the finger or don't know what the f*ck your trying to tell 'em, if I was flashed I would use common sense and check out the car etc.

+1 I also think that fiat's fog lights should not turn off after 50 kmh..So you will have better visibility in corners on a mountain or any road without lights and also it would be easily to be seen from cars on the other lane..

and especially the ones that drive at night with lights off....if you dont know your lights are off at night (big bright illuminated dashboard in front of you!) then you shouldn't be on the f*cking roads!

I had the same happen to me, when i was waiting to turn right with my cornering light on, the cop car pull at side of me and told me to turn my fog lights off, i thought it was quite funny and told him they wasnt on and explained they was cornering lights. i told me that it was crazy then drove off. haha love it when they think they know it all.

Punto's are not the only car's to have this i have noticed a load of 60 plate cars also have their fog lights do this including Golf's!

i managed to stop a car a couple of weeks ago on a B road an elderly woman was following me with no lights on at all only saw her when my brake lights illuminated her number plate wondered what the oncoming cars were flashing at :nutter:

Totally agree, its the same in B'mth, every other car drives around with fog lights on. It used to be just the chavs but everyone is doing it now.
Do these plonkers think they look cool or something.

I used to flash them to but dont bother anymore. Cant the plod give on the spot fines for this, if so they could make a shed load of money down here.

It now a £60 fine and 3 point offence for driving with fogs on.

The people I hate are the ones with aftermarket drl that are blue, there one round my area with dodgy connection and they flash and it so annoying,
