Is anybody else having a problem with bad condensation inside their car?

I have a Evo GP, bought in Sep and since then within about 5 minutes of turning on the car the rear side windows are covered in thick condensation, in any weather outside. I can clear it with the heater (or air con) on full blast but if i try to have the car at a normal heat again it comes back all over the car...

I thought it was maybe just me, but then I saw the same model car at the traffic lights last night, with steamed up rear side windows and I thought I'd ask if this was something they're all doing...it has never happened in any of my other cars

I don’t have that problem on my Evo however I have had cars with that problem in the past. You could try getting some “Mer All Clear” from Harlfords or somewhere, it’s worked for me in the past!

Thanks very much :) yeah I've mucked about with all the buttons to see if it made a difference :( I've been up to Halfords and bought stuff today, given my car a clean etc so fingers crossed :)

Every car I've owned has had air con and wen the air con is off or recirculate is on it steams up. Obviously only if the outside temperature is cold.

Try Leaving your car on with the heater on full blast for about 30 mins to an hour with the windows a little open to let the moist air escape because it's hot. That should help

I have the climate control and I always have it set to full auto, never have problems with condensatation

Haha, me too...its a great car, but I'd like to see out the window sometimes...on nightshift tonight, not so bad on the way in, we'll see in the morning, :)

I get this aswell but compared with the noisy engine and rear lamps swimming in condensation its not so bad . Used to have a grande Evo is no comparison would never buy another

I'm struggling to understand what you meant by this, EVO is better or worse than the Grande?

Never buy another EVO or Grande?

I'm assuming you mean the Grande in which I completely disagree, my EVO is MIIIIIILLLLLEEEEESSSSS better than my grande, but then I got all the options on my EVO compared to my standard Eleganza Grande.

The EVO is definitely meant to be quieter than the Grande, and a diesel has even more sound deadening than a petrol to remove the excess noise created.

Agreed the rear lamps is rubbish, maybe your engine isn't running correct if your fuel consumption is poor and it sounds like a tank?

Well its back with a vengeance! The Halfords gets good reviews:-

The Rain-X stuff seems to get nothing but bad press
Have you tried the “Merr All Clear”? It’s a bit of a nightmare to apply evenly but it worked on the hellish Peugeot 307 I had about 5 years ago. Thankfully my Evo doesn’t suffer from the problem :D.... yet!
