Punto Evo Dynamic 1.4 Long wait

Just ordered a new punto evo dynamic 1.4 dualogic on motability. I ordered it on the 27th November 2010 (7 weeks ago). I got told that it will be 10 weeks to get delivered but after a phonecall yesterday i was to find out the car has not even started to be built yet! Enless they can get it made very very quickly I dont think it will be here in 3 weeks so do you think i should ask for a few things to be thrown in for free?

Also is this car any good?

I don't know if we have any "active" dualogic users here, pretty sure theres a couple of multijets though so hopefully someone will reply to answer your question :)

Its certainly worth a go... But mine was delivered ALOT later than planned and aslong a scratch build is delivered within 12weeks they can worm out of it :( I would contact FIAT UK but as i say the dealer should have mentioned "it can" take up to 12weeks something mine didnt either

I'd give your guy a chance first, it actually only takes a couple of days for a car to be built, most of your 10-12 week wait is waiting for your slot in the factories diary to roll round.

As for freebies, you may struggle, as for a Motability deal the dealer earns little more than a handling fee, but if its late its late, and certainly worth asking.

Any luck getting the car yet??

Hopefully you'll like the Dualogic (supposed to be one of the best single-clutch semi autos around now??!)
It shouldnt make any funny electrical noises by the way when changing gear. It should just sound normal! but watch out for that.
Once you've got a few hundered gentle miles down have a go in manual mode putting your foot down past 3.5k revs, keep your foot down and flick up a gear. Gives you a very quick and sporty change!

Was just seeing if could get anything extra for free as got told it would be 10 weeks at the most to get the car. Its 11 weeks today and should be getting it within the next 48 hours. if you dont ask you dont get!

kEvo95 - how do you park your dualogic 1st, reverse or neutral?

You've probably worked this out by now...sorry...
Anyway I park in 1st. When I first got the car I parked in N like a normal manual but the beeping after taking the key out started to be quite annoying. Read the (dualogic)manual and it states to park in gear - which soon cured the annoying beeps. It took ages to convince the wife that that was that you were actually supposed to do! Had to show her the words in the manual!
I think you can park it in R too if you get lazy but it'll automatically put u back to N when you start her up??

Fiat give you nothing for free, I waited over 3 months for my car, which I was paying for it for one of those months..then was given a car that was not exactly what I ordered it took them a further 3 months to sort this all this time I was paying for the car as long as there getting money of you they don't care! Fiat UK are crap!
