Hello fellow EVO owners!

I have a little game/challenge thread for you all...
I have had my Evo Sporting for a month or two now and am trying to test the limits of the engine

But not in that way...
I want to know who has the best MPG! Also who has the most miles in their Range!

Now a month ago i'd have been one of the :whogives: people but its getting addictive :( maybe there is a way of comparing eco-drive results too?

I drive a little fast, first Turbo car and all... but sometimes try to see what I can get! Any way i'll start with my car as i left it tonight, with a full tank :D

Anyone want to try and beat me?

I cannot see the pics either. Copied the URL link and it comes up as 'unauthorised'

I too drive a sporting although I'm a bit of a speed demon. Overall since I've had the car (done 12.5k since April) I've got a total average of 33mpg.

Driving normally without putting my foot down and I can easily get 50mpg with it sometimes ranging up to 75/80ish in the right conditions.

I'd be quite scared to look at my eco drive results. It'd be up and down all over the place. I'll check next time I have time to spare :p

If I'm completely honest, I couldnt care less about MPG.

I would have bought a cheaper car to save money if I was really bothered or a Polo BlueMotion.

It's a false economy to get us to all buy smaller engined cars, pretty much modern communism.

My boyfriend bought a Lexus GS300 for £900 and it has every single luxury ever invented for a car, alot more than my top spec EVO, a 3.0 litre engine and it's more reliable than any of our cars, as it's a Jap car.

People don't want big engined cars any more because they have been scared into thinking they are mighty expensive to run. Which makes them a great buy really as you save so much money on them because they have severly lost their value!

He then has all that money he saved for his fuel budget, because he bought a really cheap older car which makes his car WAAAAAY cheaper to run than mine (y)

However I love my EVO, I'm not bothered how much it costs to run :D or how economical it is lol

Ignore your mpg results and drive your sporting how it's meant to be!

with Petrol going up so high, mpg is going to be a concern me thinks :p

i thought £1.29/litre i spent last week on Shell ultimate unleaded was abit extreme, but it was a treat for the car for Christmas. (£50 for a tank)

looks like by April we'll be paying atleast £1.31/litre for the standard stuff.
Big jump, feels like only a couple of years ago i was paying 90p/litre... and if it goes much higher, the mileage i get paid wont be enough cover the petrol never-mind maintenance.

I'm going to see how high i can get my mpg this week :p

ha, had to drive to a little village and back as all my work is in the town and its Turbo time in town!

Ill see if i can better it!

OOoooooh, nice. Glad I managed to get hold of one for my new car. Got one off eBay for £180 BNIB/Unopened. Now all I need is the damned car to put it in! :p

I love mine, i don't use it very often but its great when you need to go somewhere new, its always in the glove box, slot it in & go, no worry about charge or cables etc.

Would leave it in 24/7, but its just asking to be stolen :p

My only complaint is there should be a storage compartment for it in the car, it only just fits in the glove box and once its there your not able to fit any of the important things you should be putting in.

And i'd still love to see a slim / low profile 3rd party stand for it! the stock stand is pretty massive, a nice neat stand would be nice! (y)

Cheers for the info. I'll be plugging mine in when I get the car and will report my MPG happily, but I am sure it won't be too great to start with ;).

I did order a small case for it from eBay too just to protect the unit itself. Only a couple quid.

I am currently getting around 32 mph combined average on my Sporting, its done over 3000 miles. Should I be taking it to the dealer?

Over my 12,700 miles... mine is 22mph (lol, I like to go fast)

Over the last 2,000 miles it has boosted up to 30-35mpg as I tend not to drive too much like a knob (I try, sometimes fail :p )

One thing that is concerning me though... I finally managed to get the blue and me tom tom to link up so I got the displays as the above pics show. Am I right in saying that my phone should connect too or is it just a matter of one of the other? :(

My phone is a Blackberry 9700 bold and will connect the blue and me but not when the tom tom is...

I'm only getting 25-27 mpg and that's if i drive it in 4th and 5th everywhere with no fun driving at all ! I've only done 1250 miles so far do you think it will get better ? What you guys experiences ?

Well I got mine to 45mpg after fresh reset & about 50, but realistically with real-world driving and a full tank I get 33-37mpg.

Which I think is just fine, as my stepdad gets 38mpg with his Prius.
