Since getting my punto evo ive always wondered about colour coding the black front and rear bumbers to match the paintwork and im wondering what sort of price this would cost. And would it invalidate the warrenty?

that would be a very big job if you get it done properly, they have to take both bimpers off and put them in an oven (to get the oil out of the black plastic) then spray it and put them back on, im in a dilema re: my rear bumper aswell :bang:

i think it would definately be quite a few hundred if fiat could do it (if they did it you would keep your warrenty)

The bumper inserts can actualy be removed from the bumper itself, then you could get them vinyl wrapped, will cost alot less and it will have a better finish (y)

Vinyl wrapping can be applied to any part of the car, I'm thinking to have my entire wingmirror wrapped white as only the cap is white and I think it looks rubbish and cheap!

My bumper inserts and side mouldings are metallic silver which I personally am so glad they are not black. The black on a white Punto EVO does in my opinion look really cheap for a modern car design, baring in mind the Grande Punto had fully colour coded front and rear bumpers

The evo gets a lot of stick for being so ugly, I disagree with this but i think it makes a big difference weather the inserts are basic bumper black or metallic. The basic black are hideous but the metallic inserts look really good. It is part of one of the option packs so it might be worth ordering thes parts seperately.

When I bought my EVO Eleganza now discontinued, the silver metallic inserts were standard on my colour, Ambient White. However Blank2k2 forum member also bought an Eleganza but in Black and his inserts were apparently meant to be metallic carbon metal coloured (because it was silver on some colours and carbon metal on others) but they look just like the ugly black ones on the cheaper models from his photo's. His cars black so it suits it alot more, looks ugly on a white one in my opinion.

I personally think a black one with my silver inserts would look really nice!

I’ve never managed to see an Evo with the metallic inserts even yet!

To be honest the black inserts don’t bother me, maybe it’s just that they match slightly better on the Sporting but I think they look ok and hey it’s one less area to worry about stone chips! :D

Mine has the Black Carbon inserts. They look good. I have seen a few with plain black and you really notice the difference.

Ive looked at photos of the standard black inserts and the black carbon ones and I genuinely can't see the difference by photo. Mine are the silvery ones and they have a more paint look than bumper plastic look that the lower and sports models have

Got any pictures?
And where do you buy these inserts from?

You can't buy them. You get them depending on wether or not you paid to have upgraded "metallic" bumper inserts on the dynamic model and they came standard on the now discontinued eleganza.

I you mean buy them after purchase I guess the dealer would sell them.

Shop4parts.com sell inserts for £25 for the rear one and similar price for the front one too. However they don't specify the finish of them so I assume they are the standard black ones.

MrBoney you are a Legend! those inserts as parts will be perfect for me to get sprayed or even vinyl rapped!! i do wonder though, are they clip on or plastic weld? i HATE plastic weld!!

I have no idea to be perfectly honest, I know the Fiat 500 has the chrome front and rear bumper strips glued on however you can tell they are glued on the surface of the bumper and not inserted/reccessed into the bumper like on the EVO.

Yeah I'm gonna order some bumper inserts front and rear and get some quotes for respray and vinyl wrapping and hopefully end up with an all White Punto EVO.

Also the top of the range Fiat Linea (grande punto saloon not sold in the Uk) has fully colour coded wingmirrors, stalk as well. However got my bf to scource these through work (he works at my local dealer) and they were £100 each not including the cost to have them sprayed to white. So I need to save for them lol
