I second that. They have to have some sort of legal obligation to pay off your Mini now that it's in their possesion. How come you didn't contact them as soon as the finance for the Mini got taken from your account?

I knew it may go out in november but was told i would get it back, it was only when i recieved the letter about it i then got suspicious. i spoke to the finance company yesterday and they have finally paid but the car off but there are gonna be some charges which i am obviously gonna refuse to pay.
i am also considering tell fiat that i am not prepared to pay for the punto as it is not the car i have ordered so why should i pay for it!?

also, if you made two extra payments on the loan the settlement figure would of been less. If the car isn't what you ordered tell them you don't want it although they may tell you, you should of realised when you took delivery.

they should have noticed on the pdi too though

Indeed, though to be fair a Tech would only check everything works and is secure- they wouldn't be told what options should be fitted and if the customer spec'd A/C or not.

The Salesman should have checked the vehicle matches what was ordered.

Have you actually contacted the dealership? The dealership shouldn't have any problems as its not their mistake - Its the factorys mistake, and therefore shouldn't have to pay to have a new car built.
