Technical My boot leaks

well guys after 2 months almost!! the boot lid is still leak free.

Yes i feel some owners are very lucky, by just having water running from the holes at the bottom of the lid, but remember what damage is this sitting water doing to the inside of the bootlid? rust\? corrosion?

My problems were worse than that, water running down the inside of the back screen onto the parcel shelf, water in the boot but give Vospers of Plymouth there dues they fixed her for me! Remember that if this happens to you DO NOT accept the normal warranty fix make the dealer seal the whole lid seam. also around the wiper grommet.

My compensation offers was £25 from fiat which i said was an insult! so they up'd it to £100 and the dealer have given me a half price 1st service.

Anyone know how this problem is resolved on the GP?

When it absolutely hammers it down with rain, and go and open my boot, it sounds like there is a bloody swimming pool in the boot lid

All the rain sloshes around inside and you have to pull it down then lift it up, and then pull it down again for the water to come out, which comes out of the grommets in each corner of the boot lid.

I'm well out of warranty now.

EDIT: Sorry guys, just realised this is in the Evo section - oops! Same car though, same problem lol

iv also noticed this with mine but as i am only 19 i wouldnt get a courtesy car when it goes in (had an arguement about that when i first bought the car, he knew i was 18 at the time and still said i could get a courtesy car, i was not impressed)

i also noticed that when i opened my boot water dripped into the boot, i eventually notice its due to the gap around the window so i plan to clean in and fill it in with clear sillicon

Seems to be quite common, mine did it initially, it went back to the dealer for a couple of hours and was sorted.

I have just got an Evo 1.4 dynamic, I have just noticed water in the boot/wheel space.
It looks to have come from around the lid somehow, ending up in the groove in the plastic trim on the boot lip (the bit your bum would be on if you were sat into the boot at a boot sale) and then when the groove fills it drips through the boot lock area, under the fascia and into the wheel well.
(Which would explain the need for replacing the locks etc).

So I was wondering if a 1/4" hole/pipe through this groove to the outside - leading to behind the rear bumper would allow it to drain away?
