Re: Fuming!

Salesman assures me there is no problem, but I am very worried now that I might not get my Evo as I cannot afford another 2 grand. I have all paperwork with there contribution on but I have not finalized finance as car has not yet arrived and finance agreement not signed. Also my order form has no estimated delivery date so I guess its wait and see.
I just wanted peoples opions on where I might stand on this? as I have placed the order and signed for it on 17 July. Plus I Quote " this is the only Sporting we have on order ", just my luck 10 white Evos in dealership and there all GP 8V's.

Hmm my situation is the same i havent done my finance, but have you paid a deposit because if you have they can't possible change it because although you haven't done the finance you've put money down for the car and basically signed a contract although you're not paying the whole amount if that makes any sense?

Re: Fuming!

Lol yes that is a very good point! I think its stupid they shut the factory the month before the new reg comes out! So what its the hottest month, bloody get on with it everyone else does.. any excuse to get outta working!

new reg here but not there!

Are workers not entitled to a break? personally I think its a great idea as families spend more time together (kids off school) and socialise more etc.

Re: Fuming!

My 135 sporting was ordered on 17/07/20010 still waiting now I have another problem!!

I have just heard from dealership (yesterday), If car is not registered by 30/9/2010 Fiat will not honour there contribution of £2000. I suggest you all check with your dealerships (as I have just walked out of mine after having major argument). I did order my car in July, NOT my fault Fiat cannot deliver on time!!. Dealership says they will plead my case but it stinks, your comments please.

Honda

The status codes are as follows :-
10 : Heavy Variability, Confirmed Order. Fiat has your order but it can still be changed
13 : Light Variability, Confirmed Order. This is the point where only limited changes to your order can now happen.
16 : Fixed, Confirmed Order. your order is now fixed and can no longer be changed with regards factory spec.
20 : Built,
30 : Shipment, At dock waiting to get on a boat.
35 : Transit, On the way to the UK
40 : Arrived, At the docks
45 : Ready, Car is waiting for collection by transport company.
50 : With Delivery Instruction, Delivery instruction has been sent to transport company.
55 : Goods Out, Car is on a transporter on its way to your dealer
60 : Arrival at Dealership, From Status 60 till you pick up your car is now dependent on what dealership options you have, how efficient your dealer is and when you want to pick it

The above might help anyone who’s able to find out the delivery status number of their car. (taken from Fiat site)

Found this contact number on the Fiat website in relation to the Fiat £2000 contribution “For details contact 00800 3428 0000” it does state in the small print that the “Offer ends 30th September 2010” however I would have thought that if you had agreed the deal with the dealership & ordered your car then (in my opinion) they would have to honour that offer. I would suggest contacting the above number and putting the question to them, after all you have to take what the dealership says with a pitch of salt!

Re: Fuming!

T14086 I do not have a problem with Italy having a shutdown in any way shape or form. The problem I have is that Fiat do a promotion from July- September offer you a contribution of £2000. Then when the car is not going to be here for the end of September deadline Dealership tell you £2000 contribution is not applicable as car not registered before 30/9/2010 it sucks after all I ordered my car in JULY!!!!

Re: Fuming!

Please tell me they have no home to go to. Why cant I just take one of them instead of waiting another x amount of weeks for the same car :(
You’ll probably find some out there somewhere without too much difficulty all the Fiat dealerships up here seem to have GP’s sitting in the showrooms

Mine was a APPARENTLY 20 built a month ago my sales man told me now its not even built!!! :bang:

Re: Fuming!

TJ07 mine was at code 16 3 weeks ago!!!
Weird! I remember a while back people were having this problem with the 500’s and there was speculation that the BSM driving school order was getting all the cars, I have no idea if that was true or not but Fiat do seem to get themselves into bother sometimes, what tends to make it worse is the dealerships though.
I nearly had a problem with my order due to the sales manageress at my local branch, in the end I was lucky as I new the manager at the dealership in the next town and he sorted it out no problem. (y)

I’d try a different garage unless you start getting some honest answers.
You could simply try contacting another Fiat dealership to enquire what Evo’s they have available in the country, that would let you know if you have any chance of getting one quickly at another dealership before cancelling your order.

Forget what dealership say contact Fiat themselves and if no luck simply buy another make. Fiat will soon learn not to pis5 folk off....the hard way!

Re: Fuming!

You may just have to wait, when I got my Grande Sporting that was new, I got quoted 8 weeks and it turned out to be more like 13 when it actually got here.

Obv I was a slight bit annoyed as I had traded in my old car (was broken anyway) but meant I was without a car nearly a month longer than planned.

I suggest you wait if you can, its more than worth it. you can always pick up an old banger for 4 weeks if you cannot afford to be without a car, and then that will make picking up the new one all that sweeter. (before someone mentions it you can get a car for £50 with enough looking)

But as T says, buy another make if you want, but then u may have the same thing all over again.

If you want a car now, you buy direct off the forecourt, if you want your own spec/build then you wait, simple as.

Well certainly can’t blame you for that!
As for being popular cars  I’ve only seen another two on the road up here (both GP’s) and guess what… they were being driven by Fiat salesmen from the local garage!

Yeah i can see what your saying you have a good point! Its just so frustrating being lied to and expecting to be told your car is on the way when it isn't even built!!

Re: Fuming!

I put in the order for mine mid july and have been assured it will be ready for collection in around two weeks time (although I won't be able to pick it up until the end of the month). At no point have I been messed about, they've called me on a few occasions to give an updates and pick a number plate. I'm guessing here but if if cars have a delivery date into October then dealers simply aren't putting the orders in with the factory when they receive them. Is there some sort of financial gain for them to hold onto orders and put a load in at once?

Much the same story with mine, ordered it, went a few weeks before delivery date, asked if everythings ok, was told it'll be in on time etc its currently on the boat, then they said when it arrives i'll get a phone call with number plates etc.

few weeks later, i had a phone call about number plates, then an insurance number deal i had to setup, next day i picked it up.

But then, with the Italians taking months off at a time it's bound to cause issues!

Re: Fuming!

Don't they close the factory for the whole of August for holidays??????

Re: Fuming!

Gone through Fiat UK now as my dealer seem to just constantly say try tomorrow, Try friday Fiat release updates then... And its got a little too much
To date ive been patient considering i ordered 9 weeks ago i expect them to try convince me there on with the task and are chasing up my order.
Instead i call Monday at 9.30AM and they call me back 16:00PM Tuesday still with nothing.
Ive told FIAT i will happily wait while friday but want some form of information otherwise Im going to cancel with or without my deposit :(
