Re: Changes to Punto Evo Range

Still doing the 1.2 8v! WHEN will they realise this engine is completely USELESS in a modern NCAP 5 rated vehicle!

Unless of course they've tweaked more power out of it (which I doubt).

Re: Changes to Punto Evo Range

Perhaps they are keeping it for the first car and BSM customers

Re: Changes to Punto Evo Range

They want an engine which makes the range under 100g/km so getting free tax and showroom tax, which allows the range to become below the average, and allowing them to do a larger/more powerful version in a model.

Re: Changes to Punto Evo Range

Is the 1.2 8v under 100g/KM nowadays? Always used to be more although I suppose the emission control technology has come on a lot since.

And I'd have thought the diesels would be much better suited for learners due to the fact they don't stall very easily.

Precisely why learners should drive petrol tbh, so that they know how to deal quickly with a stall.

Re: Changes to Punto Evo Range

Just popped on to the Showroom to have a nosey and see they've updated the line up with the 1.2 8v and ECO diesel models but still havent added the 1.6 Multijet to the range?!? They've been driving these in Europe for a while now...

The 1.2 8v is nowhere near <100g/km BTW. I think its there purely for the avg emissions to come down a bit. It can't be there for the sake of a lowest-cost version as its the same price as a 1.4 8v!

The 1.2 8v Dynamic is cheaper than the 1.4 8v Dynamic, but the Actives are both the same price.

I can only guess that the 1.2 8v Active price will be reduced (or 1.4 8v Active increased) once the Feelin' Good limited edition comes to an end, as the Feelin' Good currently starts at 9595 for the 1.4 8v 3 door, which undercuts even the 1.2 Active's price.

Tbh at the moment anyone would be nuts to buy a 1.2 or 1.4 Active because the Feelin Good is cheaper & comes with more kit. I would presume Fiat have done that on purpose to push the Feelin' Good & will adjust the Active prices one way or another in the next couple of months.

You should never presume

The reason the 'Feelin' Good' is cheaper and better-equipped than the Active is to attract Retail (i.e Private) customers over Lease Companies/Bodyshops etc that tend to go for entry-levels.

FGA are more likely to release a further special edition if the Feelin' Good is discontinued than reduce the price of the standard Active.
