Hi,
Is it just me or are other people having issues with build quality of the interior of a punto evo as well? the compartment at the center of the dash doesn't come open unless I press the button and pull it open with my nail since the beginning and today I opened the compartment on the left of the steering wheel (under the menu/esc, +- buttons it just popped out and won't close again.
I find that frustrating. No car should have these problems these days...

Grtz

Yes, there are a number of build-related problems with the Evo.

If you haven't found it already, check out this thread regarding some of the known problems we've all come to identify.

But frankly, I find none of these to be more so annoying than the Blue&Me system, which just does whatever it feels like!!

Get the blue&me looked at, mines been perfectly fine since they changed my blue&me control unit.

On another fault note, Yesterday i cleaned my car, opened the boot to put some stuff in, closed it & saw a healthy stream of water pour into the boot.

Deffo going to be looking at what the hell happened there, I regularly carry multiple grands worth of Stereo / Computer / TV equipment around so I certainly cant be having water getting in the boot!

And yeah, there are a few issues with interior quality, but nothing that matters too much every things easily fixed - i'm just surprised they haven't fixed it in the factory yet, surely when they send out 1000 cars & 800 of them come back complaining of central & side compartments being poorly built they'd of stuck another bolt in at the factory before shipping.

The knee-side compartment has been an issue on 90% of people that have purchased Evos on forum tbh, and dealership will fix it while you wait.

oh ok, yes i found that topic a while after posting this, won't be long until I pop it in at the dealer's, I haven't driven a lot since i've had her (may 22nd 586km or 365 miles so blue&me hasn't given any problems yet, so far so good :)

the centre dash compartment is a known issue as is the compartment to the right (in our country) of the steering wheel. This pocket is retained by a silly spring and lets stop letting Fiat off the hook here, its a crap piece of design that should never of got to the production stage!
It will cost a fair amount for Fiat to replace these panels but thats nothing its the customer annoyance (hence this thread) that Fiat seem to forget about. Dont worry though as in 2 years fiat will realise this is a fault and in another 2 years redesign it by which time the punto evo will be replaced by newer model.

Will do, I can't cope with it anymore!

As for the water, I know the Evo suffers from the same problem the grande did, with water pouring around when you open a wet boot!

I've noticed opening the boot the car decides to pee on either you or anyone thats next to you.... luckily it hasnt victimised me yet, it has my mum / dad / 2 friends :D

But yeah, water appearing in the boot was a shock! its raining at the moment infact so i might go look at it.

Edit: well i cant make it do it with rain atm (average rain) so ill have to play with a hosepipe when the cars dirty and see where the weakspot is.
