General Punto Evo - Check List

When I received my Punto Evo 1.4 Dynamic, I noticed there was a lamp in the glove box that was not working.

Removed the glove box to investigate, found out the there was an interlock switch at the glove box and a wiring harness not connected to it. There was also no bulb in the lamp.

Connected the harness to the interlock switch, stuffed a bulb into the lamp, assembled everything back and now there is light.

Poor quality control?

Check for lots of smoke on initial startup of the day as I am having a hell of a problem with a fault on the engine on mine, and been like that since I drove it off the dealer forecourt.

It's a very rare problem, but it exists none-the-less. :(

I also have this problem. I have checked all over the car and infant find what is causing it. Once the car is warm though it doesn't seem to have and faults

One thing I had go wrong was at about 25000 miles my coolant case cracked which is an inevitable thing on these. I have the 1.6 sporting and the egr is inside a case which the coolant passes through to cool the get (smart idea) but then they ruin it by making the case out of ****ty plastic which can't cope with the hot/cold temperatures from the engine bay. So be careful of this. Also my turbo blew about 500 miles later
