General Finally some photos

General Finally some photos

Well on mine there is a small blister on the corner of the bonnet and a smaller one on the passenger door along the top. I'm no expert however I believe these are caused by dirt under the paint. The thing is if left they could get worse and cause rust. So better to get them fixed now rather than later.

The one on the bonnet is the worst, I've taken a couple of photos which was not easy.

Yup, id certainly get that done if i had it asap.

Mine looked like someone had touched it with oily/greasy hands prior to painting, so was an obvious discolouration under the paint/clearcoat.

Always a good idea with a new car to give it a good clean, can notice little faults when your eyes are looking at every little detail during a clean & can throw it back at the dealer to get it done before its too late :)

Ok, so I'm picking mine up in October, I need to check fog lamp switches are there, cubby holes open and paint. Anything else?! (the dealer's not going to like me!!)

Well talking about cubbie holes lol. After they changed the switch over the cubbie hole wouldn't shut correctly however they took the panel off and fixed it while I waited. Apparently there is a fix for it available. All fine now.

Kinda feel I had a productive day lol.

Mine was the same, didnt shut correctly so they redid it while i waited :D

Check List:

Paint (Top Priority, Preferably before you sign anything.)
Cubby hole in middle of dash - Check it opens.
Cubby hole by drivers knee - Check it opens/shuts squarely & generally works.

Optional Extras (Only Applicable if ordered):

Fog Lights - Check there installed.
Button for fog lights - Check its there
TomTom Blue&Me - Check it connects with the cars Blue&Me System (difficult to do at the dealership)
Ambient Lighting - Check it works, both interior front(not rear) door handles + strip light hidden away in passenger side of dash (Eleganza/Sporting Only, difficult to check unless dark.)

I think thats it... any other problems we've had ?

Got a call from the dealer today regarding the paint defects. He said that Fiat have told him that a small particle of dust can get under the paint but it is unlikely to get any worse and they would not be willing to repaint the whole bonnet. he said their paint shop manager said that there is more chance of dust getting under the paint if they did it again as the paint shop is not as dust free as the factory.

Tell them to get ****ed, goto another dealer, it doesnt look like "dust" to me it looks like a glob of dried paint or a very small stone (i.e gravel, not dust.)

Paint should be smooth, with no obvious defects imo.

No I think it is dust, have seen it before and thats what it looks like. Doesn't take much to create a mountain lol. To be honest I'm not sure I can be bothered with the hastle of having to get it resprayed after all the hastle I have had so far. They told me it will not affect my paint warranty and they are gonna keep it on file so if, in the future, there is any problems it will still be covered. Plus you can hardly see it to be honest. I only noticed it after a polish.
