Hi all, does anyone know what bulbs are used on the evo for the day running lights?
I’ve had a look in the manual and although it tells you how to change them it doesn’t appear to tell me what type of bulbs are used… of course maybe im just completely blind and cant see it!

Are you fitting HIDs? MrBoney did the same I'll try find thread

Here we are CLICK HERE

Credit to MrBoney, Will be doing the same myself :)

Not HIDs but it looks like a similar setup as MrBoney that I’ve ordered!
Just hoping that replacing the bulbs in the Evo will be easier than in the Panda’s…. should look good once its done though!

Out of curiosity where did you order from? Will be ordering myself when my car arrives! Quite fancy the MTEC Cosmos Blue, Got to like the Ring Xenon bulbs! Have you ordered DRLs and headlights and/or sidelights?

I’ve ordered headlights, sidelights, DRL’s & Chromed front indicator bulbs.
Ordered via fleabay as it worked out the cheapest, the DRL’s are MTEC, Headlights are Osram Nightbreakers (pure power:D) and can’t remember what brands the others were.

Beginning to think I might have just wasted some money. Purchased 2 H11 LED bulbs for the DRLs but just read on the other post (as linked above) that the car won't accept them :(. Looks like I might need to go back to the drawing board for that then.

Other than that I fitted my old (taken out of my old car) Osram +90's, Phillips Blue Vision sides and silver indicator bulbs. Looks pretty good.

I'll point boney in the direction of this thread :p He still has a strange fetish for light bulbs.

I've got mine setup the same as his, except for the fog lights which im scared of touching :/ lol really nice having a white/blue light rather than the manky 1990s yellow/orange look

and yeah, LED's are a no go it seems :(

Think ill go down the same route, Not sure about the Fogs myself think id be tempted for the blue tint but i remember MrBoney same the original fogs were brighter than the MTECs

The MTEC sidelights are pretty non-exsistant too, nice little/dim glow at night during pitch black but any other time cant be seen, but they're very blue and look nice when you can see them so i've kept them in for now.

Not sure what fogs hes using now but i remember they vaporised his neighbours cat, im sure he'll appear on here at some point.

I remember he said the fogs were a bitch and had to remove part of the front grill or something!

Believe he has the Ring Xenon Max fogs, Are you using Philips Blue Vision?

im using Phillips Xtreme Power for headlight, MTEC Side light, MTEC DRL's.

Fogs are standard atm, need to look into how difficult it is to swap the bulbs before i look into getting bulbs, buggered if im breaking the thing yet ;)

Edit: Pretty sure its MTEC Sidelights im using, i had some phillips blue vision & MTEC sidelights, did alot of swapping in & out to find the right look, not sure whats what now ;).

Came across 2 different types of Mtec t20 (7440) bulbs on Ebay not sure which ones are the correct ones. They are these:

Whats the difference and which ones do I need to get?

DRL bulbs arrived today so just fitted them and they are work! :D
“MTEC 380W T20 XENON SUPERWHITE CAPLESS WEDGE BULBS” are the correct ones & they look awesome

Pretty sure there the same as mine, pretty big bulbs yeah?
Would be interested in seeing pics eitherway.

I love mine, the bulb could be smaller though as upclose its obviously just a blue lightbulb but they give off some decent LED-like light, much better than the factory yellowy cheap lightbulb look

Tried to get some pics for ya all,
The bulbs I used are:
DRLs: Mtec T20 Superwhite (even though they are blue, also the easiest bulbs I have ever changed):D
Sidelights: Osram Cool Blue (not much difference, a bit more white than standard bulbs)
Headlights: Osram Nightbreakers  (Now I have no knuckles left though :()
Front Indicators: Chromed bulbs
Ended up spending hours on the car today, changed the bulbs, removed the wheels and painted the callipers red, fitted rear mudflaps (nightmare!) fitted Abarth wheel centres (Yes I know its not an Abarth but the red wheel caps go better with my colour scheme… also you cant help but love the scorpion logo:devil:)

Pics are of DRLs & Sidelight only.
