Thanks for that!

I've been told that they're aiming for a delivery to dealer of 20 December. Its apparently flagged as a priority build so we'll see if it comes through any quicker. I'll be sure to check the cubbyhole on the dash and down by the steering wheel to see if they have learned from previous issues!

And hopefully, no smoke as I've gone for the same engine for my GP as I had in the now-defunct Eleganza.

Well, finally picked up my replacement Evo a couple hours ago so I am hoping everything will be OK now. Couple pics if anyone's interested in the GP I just collected.

grats :) lets hope thats the end of your problems!
I assume you've checked the known bits & bobs for glitches?

very clean & shiny, makes me want to clean mine!

Can't believe you've plonked a sticker on the back already :p

Yes, the dealer provided me with a loan car all the time they had my vehicle in for investigation/attempted repair and while I was waiting on the replacement. They were very good.

Fiat told me they would move the servicing over to this car but when I queried the status of my servicing agreement for my Eleganza when I handed it in after rejecting it, they couldn't find anything on their systems despite being told they'd had something through previously from Fiat about my 3 year freebie. This is something I will thrash out with the powers that be.

Good news about the dealer and courtesy car (y)

I don't think Fiat ever know what theyre doing with servicing offers or extended warranties. The Bravo 5 year warranty seemed very hit & miss & the Feel3 servicing offer seemed to be executed in a very ad-hoc way, with some owners receiving a special Feel3 card and others simply getting vouchers. This is somewhere where Fiat need to get their ars*s in gear.

Like that you have mudflaps too. However I think it looks a bit gay not having the front ones aswell, they do actually fit with the sideskirts fitted even though fiat say they don't. Also from actual protection of your car purposes the front ones are alot more important than the rear ones

Does the gp come with courtesy lights under the sun visors and puddle lights under the doors like the elganzas have?

Just went out and checked, no to both it would appear. Goes to show I hadn't missed them as I hadn't noticed either were not there so not missing out on much from my old Eleganza. I do 'miss' the ambient lighting across the dashboard though, that was a really nice touch.

I do however, have a working boot light now, hooray! The person who wrapped the wires up with black tape cut one of the wires it would appear. Pillock!

Was informed by my Dealership today that Fiat think they have finally identified the ultimate cause of all the smoke problems on my previous Eleganza. Apparently a tiny hole was not drilled properly somewhere on the rocker when the engine was being assembled. They've developed a fix which takes the Dealers no more than 2 minutes to check and implement and every Evo they've previously sold will now either be subject to a recall inspection or checked at the first servicing . They've already started checking them at my Dealer and a car taken in earlier today for its first service had to have the modification although the owner had not experienced any issues. It seems mine had another problem (which they had fixed in a previous repair back in July) and in conjunction with this missing 'hole' had caused all the grief.

And yes, my new one has the hole (y)

My drive way is very dark so I really do need the lights under the doors, however I never ever use the ones under the visors, just nice to have them there lol, have you got an auto dim rear view mirror and rain sensors?

Follow Me Home headlights no use to you there? I get reflection back off the headlights from the side of the house which helps illuminate the driveway for me.

Yes, I have the rain sensors and electrochromatic mirror. Both added as options to up spec the GP to as near Eleganza spec as I could get it.

No as I always reverse my car onto my driveway and if it was facing forward it would shine light under a big conifer.

The lights help me dodge puddles lol

They are actually named puddle lights on most cars lol

Mine was Probably the first in the country to get the recall as i go it back in November to stop my stalling problem. Hasen't missed a beat since.

As luck would have it the fiat techs got the "tool" and recall instructions the day my car was booked in to have its fault looked at so they did it there and then.

Actually, I think my old Evo beat you to it :bang:
