Car went in for repair last Monday...

So as some of you may know... Some woman reversed into me whilst I was looking for a space in Tesco carpark.

Left a nice big scuff on the passenger side door and a bid dent in the back quarter panel by the wheel arch.

It went in last Monday and I got a call on Tuesday to go collect it this week. It went to a company called Justcar clinic who were the fiat approved repairers (apparently) and they were obviously gonna fix the paintwork and get rid of the dent.

After recieving the phonecall, I gave my dad a shout and asked him to go check it whilst I was at work... Results were not good

There is sum dust / crap underneath the parts that they have painted... Not noticable unless you get right up close or brush your hand along the surface. They managed to get the colour right so it looks as new from the side view, but they haven't go it matching against the rear bumper.

Now the rear bumper and side panel are slightly off colour anyways but they seemed to exagerate it so much on the part they resprayed

It's going back in next Wednesday for 3days so they can hopefully fix it this time. Should I ever get a problem in the future, I think I'll ask for a different garage to fix it. Also, as the woman was at fault... her insurance company offered me a free courtesy car that would be in the same 'class bracket' as my punto sporting.

They offered me a Vauxhall Meriva!!!! I lol'd hard but reluctantly accepted. It must have only done 20miles on it the whole week I had it and that was just travelling home and then dropping it back off with them. I got a reputation to uphold, don't wanna be seen driving one of those.

Disclaimer: In no way am I dissing drivers / owners of Vauxhall Meriva's... I'm sure you didn't have a choice when you got it

Re: Car went in for repair last Monday...

lol, might be in the same class money wise but a small people carrier doesnt really hit the same bracket as a turbo charged hatchback :P

But nevermind, everyone knows that courtesy cars are **** so you can slate it + rag the tits out of it, when i hate a courtest car i drove it like it was hot

i had a heep of **** 09 plate VW Polo (I'll never buy a VW, unless it was a high-end golf) but it was good fun to drive it like a maniac.

But yeah with respray's ive learnt even if they're spraying so much as the petrol cap you need to check the car visibly & run hands across the paint to make sure there's no over spray it recently happened to my dads car, very unhappy as it was months before he realised, feels like sandpaper..... also check the antenna, make sure its still black & doesnt have spots on paint on it etc.

They should be able to fix it, just make sure your ****hot at pointing out flaws etc.. its a brand new car, i wouldn't accept any "ok" jobs it'd have to be spot on perfect.

Edit: holy ****, i swore alot.. :P
Edit #2: Infact, a good thing to do would be to give the car a good cleaning session after you get it back from the bodyshop as thats when your eyes really get attuned to the paint & see all the marks etc, also does this place your using use ovens?

Re: Car went in for repair last Monday...

It was returned to me fully cleaned + polished (cleaned the inside aswell) hence noticing all the faults before it even left their forecourt.

No idea wether they use ovens or not though

They won't have even touched the antenna... It was only a touch up on the passenger door and back panel :P

Yeah my dads was only a ding/paint on the rear wing :P

Sometimes it seems they dont cover the car properly and spray something else near by and the spray ends up hitting the car.

Atleast its done, and always nice to get it fully cleaned/polished
