General Have you ordered an Evo?

Ordered an Evo here in February shortly after the launch in Denmark.

Talking with the dealer, this car caused some interest amongst Danish dealers. As we all know they are making them to order and this was probably the first one imported to Denmark. Makes it feel a little more special.

It arrived on Friday last week and the dealer got it ready on Monday. Superb car I must say and our Panda now has a bigger brother.

Not sure how the modesl stack up here to the UK, they offer only three Evos here: Active, Dynamic and Sport.

Punto Evo 1.4 Turbo (Nero Provocatore)

Danish Sport edition
Sideskirts, spoiler, ambient lighting, sports interior, 17" alloys, darkened front lights, turning fogs.

Plus extra equipment
Darkened rear windows, multi-function display, full Blue&Me system and navigation, side rubbing strip in colour with Punto logo, sub-woofer sound system and Italian flag badges on the doors.

Total 254,000 DKK (yes, Denmark has extremely high car prices)

Stunning even when standing still. Difficult to say what I was expecting, always loved the Punto Grande. Unlike some I do like the redesign it and the interior is very well done.

Already done 152km now! Gotta say I love the engine display for the airflow into the turbo. :D

I really do like the subtle touches on the car, especially the "dot" in the Punto logo being red on this version. Black and green being the others of course. Although they do not sell the green eco fuel version here in Denmark.

We've got: Active, Dynamic, GP, Eleganza, Sporting.

GP is basically all the flash bodykit etc of the Sporting without the turbo.
Eleganza is pretty much all the extra's you'll ever want but no flash bodykit.

Looks like your "Sport" is the same as our Sporting.
Not sure if we have the "Green" one either.

The car really is a huge step up, nothing i've been in since buying mine feels quite the same smooth/quality wise (well, except much higher segment cars)

Thanks. Being out of the UK now for 3 years I've lost touch really. Denmark is a small market for cars though, they are so expensive here and hence sell less cars per year. :)

My dealer was offering the Eleganza for about £500-£600 more than the next model down. Seemed crazy to drop a model for such a small decrease in price yet lose out on so many extras.

I'm glad to have the ambient lighting in my new one (when I get it). Would be even better if they accidently put on the front fogs in error as well. Can always hope. All I want to know now is where I can get a good deal on the B&M Tomtom unit for the Evo as I am not paying £280 for it and cannot get the dealer to budge at the moment!!

That may explain why so many people are going for the higher spec models then. £500-£600 is excellent when you think how much kit is added to the Eleganza over lesser models.

Often with Fiat, they also add other neat little touches to the top models but don't even mention them in the spec lists, so you end up gaining more than you originally think.

I found with my Mk2 Punto HLX that there were one or two extras that probably wouldn't have been mentioned, like digital oil level gauge and electronic eject for the casette player (back in the day)! The low spec models had a springy eject that was less smooth). Im sure someone mentioned that theyre Grande Eleganza also had a second interior light over the lesser models one light - again i doubt this was mentioned in the spec lists. So you may get some extra suprises.

Hopefully they'll sneak the fog lights on by mistake ;)

It was me that mentioned the Grande Punto Eleganza spec having the second interior light. Also the Eleganza EVO has puddle lights on the doors and courtesy lights under the visors which which on my Grande Eleganza had over the lesser models. But when I bought my Grande it was mentioned in the book that it had these specs but the EVO brochure mentions nothing
so I'm unsure if lesser models aren't fitted with these.

Could someone with a lesser equipped EVO check?

Also someone mentioned having fog lights fitted by accident would be cool.

Well someone had the whole EVO Eleganza style pack fitted without ordering it and didn't get charged as no one noticed lol

I'm hoping to be able to pick my new car up late next week. Dealer informed me it was delivered to the Bristol Docks on the 3rd May. They are due a delivery of several cars on this lot so fingers crossed it'll be at the Dealer soon.

My dealer called me yesterday to tell me that mine is still sat at the depot at Bristol docks and has been sat there since 3 May. Not impressed.

Apparently they're waiting on 5 ot 6 cars to be delivered that are sat there. He said that the 500s and Panda usually get shipped out really quick, but the Evo is always being delayed there.

Argh, i wouldn't be impressed either!

What colour is it? I'll see if I can wave at it when pass the bridge at avonmouth (link)!

Feel free to browse around, obscene amount of cars there... I'd guess that's where they're landing, infact im sure they are as my brother met a guy who worked taking the cars off the boat & he mentioned the punto evo.

hi there i ordered a new evo gp 2 door in exotica red 1.4 8v with style pack chequered stripes in white across the top red\black interior and colour coded rubber strip and i was told delivery would be very late june early july cant wait (that was on the 9th april)

Yesterday had a phone call to say the car was in the uk so cant wait now only a couple more weeks hopefully

my dealer said that to push it up the delivery list he would register it etc as soon as which should prompt fiat to deliver quicker, never know yours might be on the same truck as mine already on its way!

Well, they told me that the Evo is always held up at Avonmouth, the Panda and 500s come through faster. They have 6 vehicles sat there as well as mine. I'm going to phone them tomorrow morning to find out what's going on.

No, the dealer informs me it's automatically allocated when they register the vehicle after it gets delivered. I queried this already as last time I got to pick my registration from a list of available numbers. They no longer have this option available either, it's all automated now.

I think your being told fibs personally, my car wasn't registered until it arrived at the dealership

I also picked my plate, though wasn't really much to pick & the salesman was pretty cool in general, but he rang me with about 5 number plates to pick from, he said they were all pretty dull but thought he'd ring anyway... I just said pick one, as they were all much the same.

So your not missing out on much, but eh if your car arrives earlier than expected who gives a damn about a numberplate or what the salesman is saying :D
