After considerable problems with starting and cutting all that happens now when turned on is that it clicks a lot from the the relay by the ECU and the keycode light will not go out. (See history https://www.fiatforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7981 )
Car went into the garage today. Mechanic says that he cannot even read the ECU if the Key code does not clear. He has tried with two diagnostic systems including the lastest bosch system. He thinks that the ECU might be f**ked. Any Ideas.
Does anyone know if the steering lock housing does anything special Fiat call it "Key switch w/antitheft device" would it be worth changing this first
If I have to change the ECU what else is needed? I presume lock barrels and the matching keys. My mechanic said that he thinks that the immobiliser unit behind the fuse/relay box goes with the ECU but was going to check this out. Anyone know what part this is I can't seem to find it on the Fiat parts system.
Any help would be really appreciated
Many thanks
Michael
