Hey,

I've got a 99 T Seicento Sporting, and its not got power steering as standard.

I've been told that the power steering on these cars is just an electric motor on the steering wheel, rather than a full power steering system.

is this right? and if it is, could i just get a power steering column from a scrappy car and stick it in mine to get the power steering?

any help much appreciated,

cheers
dave

Yes, that's right. You need complete stering column from the car with PS, ECU for PS (separate of the engine ECU!), special g'box sender and loom for PS.

Think it could be retrofitted to a Cinq?

That'd be so good!

1 x 95' Cinq Sporting
= Loads a' fun!

Not that far from the truth.....

The ARB on the Sporting makes the steering soooooo much heavier.
The fact that my left arm is weaker than my right certainly doesnt help!!:D

I'd be interested in retrofitting!!

Hehehe...Quality.

Im thinking a retrofit may not be that complicated....

In Cinquecento is different stering column bracket. You need to change it (it is not a easy job - it is the part of the shell) and AFAIK then you must use stering column levers and stering column covers from version with air bag.
