Problem with a corroded upper offside suspension spring plate cup. The rubber bump/ bung metal retainer that is suspended from the top plate metal cup and sits inside the rear spring has a rusted cup and has dropped inside the spring. There are no handling problems and all is ok. Is it there to stop the spring bottoming when fully loaded? How can it be replaced? Is the part available thro Fiat? The top plate is not corroded and the spring mounts both ends are good, its just this cup thing thats rusted.
Welcome some advice.
Thanks

its just the bump stop mount, and you're right it does stop the suspension from travelling too far (bottoming out) when under heavy load. not important really, but easily replaced if you want to, i suggest a scrapyard where the part will be a couple of quid.

take a few photos if you do. Got same job on my 1995 turbo, and thought it may need more than an easily replaced component.
