Hi
I have found rust on the drivers side back wing along the seam of the wing and the the seal just behind the door.

I also have a few spots on each of the wheel arches.

If you have recently had a re-spray can you not claim??? they must have flattened it back.

I have had the rust removed but has come back :-( The paint job was about 11 months ago now and the rust is just starting to show again. I think I need someone to cut out the rust and do a 100% repair. All money money money....

Yes, rust is like cancer, unless you cut it out it will come back.

Good luck. Is your car not galvanised? Or was this a later change, mine is an Aluminium body galvanised.

Mine is a 2002 model..

Not that i know of but I have seen the rust in the same places on other B's, Thats why i wanted to know how many other people have had the same rust problem.

No spots as yet [LE'99]


Aluminium body- are your sure?

As fas as I know all bodies were steel from Ilcas and [at least some] were sprayed at Bertone and assembled at Maggiora.

The thickness of the metalsheet was improved in later versions.

A bit of an update for you, I got hold of the owner that had my B before me, he told me that a women hit the B in a car park on the back drivers wing and thats why I have a bit of rust as it was not fixed as it should have been. No big deal, will get it done at some point soon.

I've lots at the bottom of the front arches.. Seems to be only surface rust but it will need sorted
